Whether you're vaccinating in clinics, ensuring students are up-to-date on their school-required vaccines, or communicating about the benefits of immunizations, our members work hard every day to keep our communities healthy. Please take a moment to celebrate our immunization heroes!

In addition, congratulations to our Immunization Champions, Seattle Public Schools Nurses and Stewart Lyman! Read more about our Immunization Champions below!

WithinReach
National Immunization Awareness Month
August is National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM). This annual observance highlights the efforts of healthcare providers to protect patients of all ages against vaccine-preventable diseases through on-time vaccination.

During NIAM, WithinReach encourages you to continue making sure your patients are up to date on recommended vaccines. Research has consistently shown that healthcare providers are the most trusted source of vaccine information for parents and patients.

Additionally, use NIAM as an opportunity to access CDC educational resources like the #HowIRecommend Video Series, which offers simple and practical guidance for having successful vaccine conversations with parents and patients. These short videos demonstrate how to make effective vaccine recommendations, address common vaccine questions, and take a team-based approach to vaccination.
Congratulations to our Immunization Champions!

Drop Your Assumptions and Pick Up the Evidence: Strategies for Communication with Parents About Vaccines

News

The dynamics on display in Denver have nationwide implications as scientists race to create a vaccine for the deadly coronavirus, which has taken a disproportionately steep toll on people of color.

Since the start of the pandemic, the public has been barraged by conflicting messages in part because the country is dealing with a new and still poorly understood virus and in part because politicians and scientists deliver conflicting advice.

Dr. Neil Kaneshiro, IACW Chairperson, explains the changes that his office has implemented through the pandemic & the current status of a COVID-19 vaccine.
