Greetings!
Happy National Immunization Awareness Month!
August is a busy month for everyone as parents are gearing up their children for back-to-school. As children are preparing to spend more in-person time with friends and classmates, this is a great opportunity to ensure children are fully caught up on all recommended vaccines. Check out and promote our Vax into Summer campaign!
We are also excited to announce that our latest e-learning course called "Fostering COVID-19 Vaccine Confidence in Russian- and Ukrainian-Speaking Communities" is now available! This free e-course will give healthcare providers the tools to better understand vaccine hesitancy within the Russian- and Ukrainian-speaking population, in addition to fostering vaccine confidence, identifying language and cultural barriers that may impede vaccine hesitancy, and adopting strategies to initiate conversations about the COVID-19 vaccine. Read more of our newsletter below to register and learn more about this e-course.
Stay safe, healthy and protect your community!

This campaign includes sample social media messages that you can share, and resources that clinics and health care providers can use.

New findings from the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) indicate that among those resistant to get a vaccine six months ago, one in five previously vaccine-averse individuals now say that have received a vaccine, in part due to family pressure. KFF’s latest report follows up with 878 respondents, including those who said they would not be getting the vaccine in January.

To date, three vaccines against SARS-CoV-2—the virus that causes COVID-19—have received emergency authorization for use in the U.S. All showed excellent protection against severe or critical disease in the clinical trials that led to their approval. However, these vaccines were developed early in the pandemic, before the virus mutated to produce the variants now found around the world.
