END OF YEAR CLASSROOM CELEBRATIONS

For Family Building Blocks Therapeutic Classrooms, August marks the end of our year. Our classrooms close briefly while teachers and staff reset to welcome new children and families. Thank you to our teams in Salem, Independence, Woodburn, and Aumsville for providing end of year celebrations! The celebrations include the children's wider communities - parents, guardians, classroom volunteers, as well as staff.

Many of the children will be moving on to Head Start or Kindergarten programs with a stronger foundation because of their partnership with Family Building Blocks. The end of year classroom celebration is more than just a party. It is a meaningful reflection on the whole family - honoring their vulnerability, hard work, and growth as they move forward in their parenting journey!

Contact our Family Engagement Team at 503-566-2132 or visit the Parents area on our website to learn more information about connecting families to services with Family Building Blocks.

MEET HANK & HENRY AT OUR DREAM BUILDERS LUNCHEON, OCTOBER 17

Ten years ago, we shared the story of Hank, a single dad with a newborn son. Hank had been recently released from prison, was struggling with addiction, and was determined to turn his life around for his son. Hank and his FBB Home Visitor, Billie, developed a strong relationship as she provided the support and encouragement that Hank needed to start a new chapter of his life. Hank worked hard and broke the cycles he was raised in. His son Henry is now a thriving and vibrant 11-year-old in our Salem community. Billie is proud to have played a role in his success.

As the Relief Nursery serving Marion and Polk counties, we partner with parents with very young children to break the intergenerational cycle of child abuse and neglect. Historically, 99% of the children served in FBB’s prevention programs are able to live safely with their parents, avoiding foster care and the trauma caused by abuse and neglect.

On Thursday, October 17, we are expecting nearly 850 community leaders to attend our Dream Builders Luncheon at the Salem Convention Center, from Noon-1:00pm. This event is free and a complimentary lunch is provided. RSVP today!

RSVP to Claudia at cvorse@familybuildingblocks.org or 503-566-2132.

Save the Date: Friday, December 6 at 5:30PM

Helping raise nearly $3 million since it began in 1990, the Gala of Trees has supported the efforts of many nonprofit organizations serving children in need in Marion and Polk counties. We are proud to continue this legacy of caring for the youngest among us as the host of the annual Gala of Trees.
