President's Message

Donna Broderick
Albert Einstein said,  "Everything that is really great and inspiring is created by the individual who can labor in freedom." As we celebrate the independence of our nation this week we look back and celebrate those individuals who were an inspiration to those around them.
At Impact 100 we continue to be inspired by those in our community who labor for the support of others, to free them from the restrictions in their life.
This week, we are also celebrating! The Focus Area Committees have completed their work of selecting the Grant Finalists, and our Community Investment Review Committee (CIRC) has completed its work of confirming the financial viability of the Finalist proposals.
As a result, on June 28th, at the American Sign Museum, we were delighted to announce our seven Grant Finalists.
The Seven Finalists are:
ST. FRANCIS SERAPH MINISTRIES with CENTER FOR RESPITE CARE- proposing the Dinner Club & Kitchenette project.

THE CENTER FOR GREAT NEIGHBORHOODS OF COVINGTON - proposing the Creative Commons project.
CHATFIELD COLLEGE - proposing the Central Parkway Park Renovation project.

WOMEN'S CRISIS CENTER - proposing Green Dot Violence Prevention program.

NORTHERN KENTUCKY COMMUNITY ACTION COMMISSION (NKCAC)- proposing the Lincoln Grant Scholar House (LGSH) project.

GREATER CINCINNATI CONSTRUCTION FOUNDATION - proposing the Constructing a Pathway out of Poverty program.
We applaud all the vibrant, creative nonprofit agencies that applied. Seventy-five Letters of Intent and twenty-two Grant Applications were reviewed before narrowing down the list to these seven inspirational programs/projects.
We hope you can join us for the 15th Annual Awards Celebration (AAC) on September 13th.  This event is the highlight of the Impact 100 year - the chance for you to listen to the Finalists speak about the transformation they hope to bring to reality with the award of a grant. The chance to cast your vote, network with other Impact 100 members and our generous sponsors, enjoy a delicious meal, and see which organizations are awarded our 2016 Grant Awards.  You won't want to miss this Awards Celebration - we will award FOUR grants of $101,500 each!!
You can help us make a difference in the community by inviting your friends, family and colleagues to attend the AAC. When you share your passion for the work Impact 100 does you demonstrate The Power of Women IMPACTing our Community. You are our best source for bringing in new members. We thank you for your help in reaching our goal of awarding FIVE Grants in 2017!
Please remember to register for the Annual Awards Celebration (you will receive an invitation soon) and invite your friends today!!!
All the best,
Donna Neyer Broderick

Welcome our Young Philanthropists for 2017!
Leanne Blair

Sarah Siegrist

This year we are privileged to add five new members to our Young Philanthropist (YP) Program. This program enables young women to join Impact 100 through a scholarship program which allows them to contribute a portion of the money toward their half membership while the remainder is covered through generous donations. The amount of the YP contribution increases annually until the fourth year when they transition out of the scholarship program and support a membership on their own.

This program was initiated with the Class of 2015 and continues to enable Impact to expand our reach and involvement in the community. This year we are excited to add members who change lives in their day to day roles and are eager to continue to affect greater change through the help of Impact 100! Please join us in welcoming our Impact 100 YP Class of 2017 and make sure to introduce yourself to them at the next event!

*These five are joining the existing YP Members: Brooke Horan, Lindsey Huhn, Ali Cantor, Caitlin Lennon, and Shannon Yung.  Laura Menge is already a 'graduate' of the program!

If you would like to help sponsor this program all levels of donation are encouraged!

May We Help

Recently there was a a wonderful blog article about May We  Help, a 2015 Impact 100 grant recipient, written by one of their volunteers. It is a great read about his experience and what he helped create for one of May We Help's clients. It really brings to life how both the clients and the  volunteers benefit from their interactions through May We Help.

You can read the entire post HERE.

2015 Grant Recipient - SELF Interim report

Build-up Academy offers  free job and construction skills training  to low-income young adults (ages 18-40) in Butler County, Ohio, and includes a nationally recognized construction accreditation certificate (a $2,600 value) as well as opportunities to network with local employers or apply for apprenticeships in the construction field upon graduation.  The program also includes incentives, employment and life skills training, emergency supports and even steel-toed boots and a starter tool set upon graduation from the program.

Anticipated graduation rates of 80% were exceeded (82% graduated from the 140 hour program). While class size was smaller*, the number of individuals who were gainfully  employed (91%) was on target to their initial goals articulated to Impact 100. SELF Build Up Academy employees are on target to far surpass renovation/construction on 135 unduplicated homes by end of 2017.
*Fall 2016 enrollment will over-enroll to make up for the smaller-than-anticipated Winter 2016 cohort.

Calling all Founding Members!
You generous, community-minded women made a dream become a reality ... again and again, here and around the globe! Also, please notify us if any of your fellow founding members are available to celebrate with us - regardless of how many years they sustained their Impact 100 membership. It's all been good for our community. So, let's celebrate! See you at the party!!
