President's Message

Donna Broderick
"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them." John F. Kennedy.
At Impact we have many reasons for which to show gratitude.
We thank our members, over 450 women, who live out their commitment to improving and transforming our Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky community as demonstrated by their generous financial donation. Many of our members also contribute their time and talents serving on committees such as Focus Area, Marketing, CIRC, Communications, Membership, and Recruiting and on the Board. We thank you for making Impact 100 an amazing organization of passionate, hard-working, FUN women!!
We also thank the many nonprofit agencies, which serve our community. They work every day to provide services and hope to people in Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky, and strive to do even more.  We are fortunate to have these agencies as our Impact 100 partners - bringing programs and projects to our members that inspire us and are strong candidates for funding.
As we wrap up the 2016 Membership cycle we are working with our four 2016 grant recipients to formulate their grant agreements. The agreements capture the goals proposed by the agency and set dates for reports and the release of our funding. As this 2016 cycle is ending we have already begun the 2017 Membership cycle with our first nonprofit Applicant Workshop. We had the opportunity to meet with many nonprofit agency leaders and answer questions about their about their innovative proposals for next year's grant requests.  There is no doubt that we will have great Finalists for our 2017 Grants!
We are actively recruiting new members for 2017 in order to continue providing support and hope in our community through transformational grants. We have over 315 women who have already committed to join Impact 100 in 2017! THANK YOU FOR YOUR MEMBERSHIP! This group of current members and many new members are leading the way as we strive to raise even more grant funding to award in 2017. In fact, we currently have 2017 membership commitments amounting to ~ $300,000. With your help we can reach our goal!
Please share your passion and enthusiasm for Impact 100 with your family, friends and colleagues. Our Giving Tuesday Event on November 29th at the New Riff Distillery is an excellent opportunity to introduce other women to Impact 100. At this event, which is part of a national movement to celebrate and encourage giving, we will have an opportunity to hear from several Impact 100 Grant Recipients who will provide an update regarding the impact our grant has enabled them to have on the community.
We hope that if you are considering membership - you will join us for this event.  If you are already a member, please come to hear about the IMPACT you have already made.  AND bring a friend who is a prospective member. Your passion is contagious!  PLEASE REGISTER on our Website and join us on Giving Tuesday to experience the Power of Women IMPACTing our Community.
Have a Blessed Thanksgiving!

  All the best,
Donna Neyer Broderick
Impact 100 President

CancerFree KIDS
submitted their final report to Impact 100 in September and we are excited to share a few notes: You can  view their complete final report  HERE.

CancerFree KIDS is continuing their commitment to study the positive benefits of The  CancerFree KIDS/Impact 100 Family Pet Center at Cincinnati Children's Hospital for patients and families through an IRB-approved research study.  A few highlights of th is  research as it continues:
  • Patient's MOOD: the average findings for nearly all aspects of mood showed noteworthy improvements following Family Pet Center visits. The most notable change in mood from pre- to post-visit was the overall improvement in feelings of loneliness, which improved by almost 2 points on average (1.75) per the 5-point Likert scale.
  •  Patient's level PAIN: the average findings for ALL aspects of pain showed noteworthy improvements following Family Pet Center visits.
Each scale also includes parent-perceived feedback pre- and post- pet visit. Check out the final report for more detailed findings! CancerFree KIDS and CCHMC will continue to share the results of the research coming out of the center with other hospitals who may want to build a Family Pet Center of their own.

The Family Pet Center has had the additional and unexpected benefit of allowing Cincinnati Children's Hospital to have their own resident dogs for the first time.  Drummer and Leica are available to visit with any patient.  This is particularly important for patients who may not have a pet of their own or whose pet may be unable to travel to the hospital for a visit. While the resident dogs can visit patients inside the hospital, having a space outdoors allows for an opportunity to go beyond the walls of the child's room.  For example, Leica, the female resident dog, just celebrated her 2nd birthday with over 100 attendees at her "party" held in the Family Pet Center!

By all accounts the CancerFree KIDS/Impact 100 Family Pet Center has been a huge success on all levels and we remain grateful for the opportunity to partner with Impact 100 to create this legacy that will benefit families for many years to come.

They will expand the program to save wild mustangs, but more importantly, to serve 300 veterans annually suffering from PTSD as part of a proven alternative treatment where the veterans train mustangs for traditional equine therapy roles.

We are fortunate to have some photos to share.
