President's Message
Donna Broderick

"When it comes to life, the critical thing is whether you take things for granted or take them with gratitude." G.K. Chesterton

As we approach this season of giving thanks, at Impact 100 we have many things for which we are most grateful.

We are grateful for our members, over 450 women, who live out their commitment to improving and transforming our Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky/Eastern Indiana community as demonstrated by their generous financial donation. Many of our members also contribute their time and talents serving on committees such as Focus Area, Marketing, CIRC, Communications, Membership, and Recruiting and on the Board. We thank you for making Impact 100 an amazing organization of passionate, hard-working, FUN women!!

We also thank the many nonprofit agencies which serve our community. They work every day to provide services and hope to people in our region, and strive to do even more.  We are fortunate to have these agencies as our Impact 100 partners - bringing programs and projects to our members that inspire us and are strong candidates for funding.

As we wrap up the 2018 Membership cycle we are working with our four 2017 grant recipients to formulate their grant agreements. The agreements capture the goals proposed by the agency and set dates for reports and the release of our funding. As this 2017 grant cycle is ending we have already begun the 2018 grant cycle with our first nonprofit information sessions. We had the opportunity to meet with many nonprofit agency leaders and learn about the exciting and innovative proposals they are preparing for next year's requests.  There is no doubt that we will have great Finalists for our 2018 Grants!

We are actively recruiting new members for 2018 in order to continue providing support and hope in our community through transformational grants. We have over 300 women who have already committed to join Impact 100 for 2018! THANK YOU FOR YOUR MEMBERSHIP! This group of current members and many new members are leading the way as we strive to raise even more grant funding to award in 2018. In fact, we currently have 2018 membership commitments amounting to $265,000. With your help we can reach our goal!

Please share your passion and enthusiasm for Impact 100 with your family, friends and colleagues. Our Giving Tuesday event on November 28 at the Graydon Offices in the Scripps Center is an excellent opportunity to introduce other women to Impact 100. At this event, which is part of a national movement to celebrate and encourage giving, we will have an opportunity to hear from several Impact 100 Grant Recipients who will provide an update regarding the impact our grant has enabled them to have on the community.

We hope that if you are considering membership - you will join us for this event.  If you are already a member, please come to hear about the IMPACT you have already made.  AND bring a friend who is a prospective member. Your passion is contagious!  PLEASE REGISTER on our Website and join us on Giving Tuesday and experience Women Together IMPACTing our Community.

Have a Blessed Thanksgiving!

All the best,
Donna Neyer Broderick
President, Impact 100

A New Impact 100 Membership Option!
"In Honor Of [insert your friend or relative's name]"

Impact100 now offers you the opportunity to select an Impact 100 membership in honor of a friend, relative, or someone you choose!

"In Honor Of" membership options are available to current Impact 100 Full and 110% members. The purpose is to provide members with an option to honor one individual (or two at most) by purchasing an additional $1000 Impact 100 Full membership donation in honor of someone. By choosing an "In Honor Of" membership, the current member has the right to cast an additional ballot during next fall's Impact 100 Annual Awards Celebration (AAC) for each "In Honor Of" membership purchased. The AAC is the pinnacle of the Impact 100 grant selection process where multiple $100,000+ transformational grants are awarded based upon member voting post grant finalist presentations - it is an inspiring and fulfilling evening for all who participate, making a measurable difference in the lives of many.

Make a difference in 2018 by honoring a friend, relative, or someone you choose:

Thanks to you, our  Members!
Literacy Network of Greater Cincinnati (LNGC),  2014 Impact 100 Grant Recipient, submitted their final grant report to Impact 100 in July. LNGC's Impact 100 funding goals included the expansion of adult and child literacy programs by 4 classes in Price Hill and Avondale over a two year period, including assessment of class members.  Per their final report, LNGC was able to expand to five  total sessions in these neighborhoods, exceeding their initial goals.
  • Adult Classes: the students in the two classes averaged a 1.5 grade level increase in word attack skills with a few of the students reaching the 5th/6th grade level, which is the ultimate goal.

  • Children's Classes: students who were in the class for two years averaged a 2.4 grade level increase in word attack skills over two years! This exceeds the goal of 2 grade levels over two years. The classes helped many of these students catch up to grade level reading.
Here's an excerpt from the LNGC Final Report:

"The teacher instructed students to put their plastic alphabet letters in order in front of them. One little boy was clearly struggling, with this seemingly easy task for a third-grader. You could see on his face he was embarrassed and eventually needed help to complete the task"

Within six months with LNGC's support, that "child was able to put his alphabet in order quickly and correctly, he was sounding out the letters accurately and beginning to put words together. What a big change in such a short time! Your funding is helping students like this little boy who may fall behind in the traditional classroom. For him, the multi-sensory approach to learning helped him face his struggles head on and ma y have helped to change the course of his future educational success!"
