Impact Culinary Training Program Has Launched!
ICNC, Chef Rick Bayless, Accion, and The Hatchery Chicago are excited to announce the launch of their Culinary Workforce Development Program for young adults:  Impact Culinary Training. Impact is a free program open to Chicago young adults ages 16-24 and includes an 8-week classroom course, followed by a 4-week paid internship at a Chicagoland restaurant. The program will help prepare young adults for an entry-level job in the food industry. APPLY NOW, there are a limited number of available spots for the first session beginning June 24th!

Damen Green Line Groundbreaking

After decades of advocacy work, ICNC was excited to join Mayor Rahm Emanuel, Alderman Walter Burnett, and fellow community leaders to break ground on the Damen Green Line Station. The station at Damen and Lake will fill a 1.5 mile gap and will make the liveable-wage jobs in the Kinzie Corridor and the areas surrounding the United Center more accessible. The project is expected to be completed in 2021.  Read more .
Annual Boat Cruise
ICNC will be hosting its Annual Boat Cruise aboard the Anita Dee II!  If you're interested in an afternoon of relaxing and an opportunity to build great new relationships, the ICNC Boa t Cruise is where you'll want to be. The cruise experience will include an open bar and refreshments.

The SBDC at ICNC is excited to welcome Sokha Chov from Cambodia through World Chicago. Sokha is spending her month in Chicago working with ICNC and Make City company Meliora Cleaning Products .

- Chicago Brewing District's  Dancing in the Streets is back for its second year! The West Town Chamber of Commerce (WTCC) is working with On Tour Brewing and the Chicago Brewing District to produce this one-of-a-kind craft beer and jam band event. Vendors who are ICNC Members receive a discount. Apply here to be a vendor.

- World Business Chicago and the City of Chicago partnered to launch ChiBizHub - a local professional resource network that will serve Chicago small businesses and start-ups by creating an eco-system that the provides tools to make dreams into thriving businesses. Learn more.

- Netizen, a nonprofit organization created by Make City companies studiothread and Branger_Briz, is hosting a series of conversations entitled D.R.E.A.M. (Data Rules Everything Around Me) about the systems and data that rule our world. Learn more about the next conversation on May 30th.
