On April 30, we were honored to welcome Olympic gold medalist Rowdy Gaines and the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance as they presented a generous $20,000 contribution in support of our Water Safety Initiative.

At the heart of Be Well is the belief that healthy communities are built through education, prevention, and shared responsibility. Water safety is a vital part of that commitment. Every family equipped with knowledge, every child who gains confidence in the water, and every life potentially protected through awareness represents meaningful impact.

These funds will help provide swim lessons for numerous Valley youth, equipping children with the life-saving skill of swimming and helping create safer communities across our region.

We are deeply grateful to the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance and Rowdy Gaines for partnering with us in this important work. Their support strengthens our ability to expand outreach, education, and access to critical water safety resources throughout the communities we serve.

Together, we continue building safer environments where individuals and families can thrive through compassion, education, and community partnership.

On April 27, we celebrated the ribbon cutting of the new sports field at the Ross Farnsworth East Valley Family YMCA, made possible through the incredible support and partnership of the Fiesta Sports Foundation.

While a sports field may appear simple on the surface, this space represents something much greater: a place where young people will build confidence, learn resilience, create lifelong friendships, and experience the power of teamwork and community.

The Fiesta Sports Foundation played a vital role in transforming this vision into reality. Their investment helped create a safe, welcoming, and accessible environment for every child and family who walks through the gates. From new fencing and field screening to fresh field paint, brand-new bleachers, and ADA-accessible ramps, every enhancement was designed with community, inclusion, and experience in mind.

Their generosity reflects what it truly means to Do Good by not simply funding a project, but creating opportunities for youth and families to thrive for generations to come.

Last week, staff from across the Valley came together for the Valley of the Sun YMCA’s annual Summer Staff Training Day as we prepared for another incredible summer season.

From Summer Day Camp to Aquatics, teams spent the day building skills, strengthening safety practices, and preparing to create meaningful experiences for the kids and families we serve. More than training, the day reflected the passion, energy, and commitment our staff bring to their work every single day.

As we enter the summer season, we are grateful for the dedicated individuals who help lead change through service, mentorship, and care. Through initiatives like JobONE, many of our staff are also helping empower the next generation through meaningful first-job experiences where young people build confidence, responsibility, leadership skills, and the foundation for a thriving career.

Their impact will be felt far beyond the summer months in the confidence built, memories created, and lives positively shaped along the way. We are excited for the summer ahead and the opportunity to continue making a difference throughout our communities.
