Appointed Pastor Zoom Meetings, February 27
|
|
As we continue to respond, adapt and adjust our ministry through the “ups” and “downs” of COVID restrictions, let us gather together for support and encouragement.
To this end, I have scheduled ZOOM meetings with all our churches on Saturday, February 27 for the purpose of discussing, collaborating, and planning ministry opportunities and events during the Lenten season and Holy Week. Please make every effort to attend your assigned ZOOM session that was sent to you through email.
I was overjoyed how the previous ZOOM sessions prepared our churches for excellent innovative ministry through Advent and the Christmas season! I have no doubt we shall experience similar results through these meetings. You are resourceful and creative people!
On the Adventure with you,
Supt. Ben

What's Your Name?
Without a strong identity, it is easy to accommodate or become defensive. The pursuit of institutional identity has never been more important. For churches, Christian universities, and denominations, that means anchoring themselves in a spiritual stream that gives them meaning, value, belonging, and a framework in which to face whatever comes their way.
The Free Methodist Church teems with the ongoing influence of this stream that reaches out to engage all people with compassion, grace, and humility so that Jesus Christ will be reflected, and God’s river will bring life.

Reclaiming Holiness as Good News
Holiness is not being renamed but reclaimed in these days when we desperately need God’s Spirit to transform us, set us apart, make us free, and make us whole. It isn’t getting easier to live a holy life in the world, but we must be a people of integrity who live what we profess to be true, who have been marked by the Way, and who clearly do not conform to the patterns of this world. This witness is shining out more brightly than ever in the dark.
Jesus didn’t live a double life, but a whole life, a holy life, where there was no place in Him or around Him where God’s Spirit was not at work. What a deeply releasing invitation to each of us

Join us for a livestream meeting with God—a response to the call to
"return to the Lord with all our hearts, with fasting and weeping and mourning."
Wednesday, February 17, 2021
6:00pm – 8:00pm CT
Over and over, we have been pulled toward meeting on Ash Wednesday. We consider Ash Wednesday as a Kingdom Invitation for Great Awakening. We will make camp around the ancient text from the Prophet Joel:
“Even now,” declares the Lord, “return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.” Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.
We will walk through seasons of repentance marked by confession, renunciation and returning to the Lord with ALL of our hearts, both personally and collectively. This is such an important moment in the life of the world, a moment to pivot from what has been to the awakening on the horizon.
Join us from your local church (local guidelines permitting), from home, from your car, or wherever you can. We believe history will show this to have been a pivotal moment in our sowing for a great awakening.
