- Why Sponsor Impact100 Martin
| |
|
Dear members and friends:
Last month you heard that one of our strategic imperatives is to better align the member experience with our mission. Today was a great example of how we are trying to do that.
The Member Engagement Committee developed a new series of events called “Impactful Conversations” which will take place 3-4 times a year. By assembling a panel of experts in each of the five focus areas where we make grants, “Impactful Conversations” helps us understand the needs in Martin County and where our grants can make a difference. In short, it helps us be more educated venture philanthropists by understanding the macro issues and connecting the dots to how specific proposals from nonprofits can make an impact. Today’s event, “The State of the Arts” was eye-opening and compelling. Our next “Impactful Conversation” is on the Environment, Preservation & Recreation on February 13th.
We also have a unique opportunity to join our sister chapter to the south, Impact the Palm Beaches, on January 13th at 5:30pm at the Kravis Center for “Rethinking the Philanthropy Paradigm: A Virtual Q&A with Dan Pallotta”. Dan is the author of “UnCharitable” which challenges the status quo on how we approach philanthropy, also the subject of one of the most watched TED Talks of all time. I can’t wait to gain fresh perspectives from an influential thought-leader in this space and leave feeling energized and hopeful about the future. Who doesn’t want more of that! I hope to see you at both events.
During this holiday season, please know how thankful we are for your membership, your advocacy and your generosity, no matter the form it takes. Happy Holidays!
With gratitude for your generosity no matter the form it takes,
| Maureen Cotter, President | |

Join the Council on Aging on Tuesday, January 7th at 10am for a Ribbon Cutting to showcase the completion of the Elder Care Mobile.
Through the Impact100 Martin $100,000 grant, the Elder Care Mobile Outreach program is providing a significant expansion of services throughout Martin County. The Impact Grant made it possible for the Council on Aging to purchase a van and transform it to a mobile service center. It allows a Case Manager Navigator to provide outreach to underserved areas including mobile home parks and neighborhoods in Indiantown, Hobe Sound, Jensen Beach and Stuart, connecting seniors to much needed services.

Thank You Breakfast for Impact100 at Tykes and Teens Walk-in Assessment Center Open House
Join us on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 8:30am to witness the transformational change from the Impact100 grant! As one of our four 2023-2024 Grant Recipients, we will see the renovations and additions made with the $100,000 Impact Grant.
Tykes & Teens has established a walk-in clinic for children’s behavioral health care needs. Since opening in August, the Tykes & Teens Walk-in Assessment Center has successfully linked children and their families to much-needed resources and helped many children avoid a crisis. The biggest success is that the feedback from both parents and the community has been very supportive, and everyone expresses this as a much-needed service that was missing in the continuum of care.
See firsthand how your generosity is making a difference in our community at Tykes & Teens - Walk-in Assessment Center.

Impactful Conversations
Our Environment, Preservation & Recreation
Thursday, February 13, 2025, 11:00am – 1:00pm
We are thrilled to invite you to join us and hear three of the most influential, dynamic, and passionate experts who will share their vast knowledge about the incredible environmental and preservation initiatives and outdoor recreational opportunities in Martin County.
- Vincent Encomio- Florida Sea Grant Extension Agent, University of Florida IFAS Extension
- John Maehl- Environmental Resource Administrator, Martin County Board of Commissioners
- Kevin Kirwin- Deputy Director, Martin County Parks and Recreation
Martin County is an amazing place to call home. We can boast of having over 100,000 acres of parks and preserves. Martin County manages over 35,000 acres of environmentally sensitive land, and through the Martin County Forever plan approved by voters, we will be protecting another 46,000 acres of new parks and preserves.
With this opportunity comes a community-wide commitment to protecting our water quality, natural resources, wildlife habitats, and recreation for residents of all ages and abilities to enjoy the life-enhancing benefits of nature and the outdoors.
Please join us as Vincent Encomio, John Mahle, and Keven Kirwin discuss the innovative work being done in Martin County to protect our unique environment and provide unique recreational experiences to residents and visitors. Through the Explore Natural Martin program, we will also hear about artificial reef deployment and Guided Ecotourism programs. There’s so much to learn about Martin County!
There will be time for networking and questions.
