Dear members and friends:
We are at an exciting part of Season 8, nearing the end of our membership campaign and beginning the process of determining our Impact Grant Finalists. Our membership count determines the number of Impact Grants we will award. For every 100 members, we make a $100,000 grant. Last year, it was four and we will certainly match that this year, bringing us to more than $2.2 million dollars in grants in eight short years.
How many finalists will there be? You will see in this newsletter that nine projects have been advanced to the semifinalist stage, based on the hard work of our Grants Committee and their evaluation of 31 Letters of Intent. Congratulations to all the semifinalists, who have been invited to submit full applications. The committee will evaluate those applications, conduct site visits and meet to discuss their findings. Everyone is so excited, especially since we have two or more proposals spanning all five of our focus areas for grant-making.
Our Membership Committee and Member Engagement Committees have been hard at work, hosting Meet & Mingles, See Your Impact events, facilitating Impactful Conversations, and hosting the Culture Club and other fun events, all designed to enrich your membership experience and make it easy to invite your friends to join. If you haven’t renewed, now is the time! If you have been meaning to invite a friend to join, this is “last call”.
Finally, I would like to give a big shout-out to the Communications Committee for the great work they do in helping us tell our story. From the newsletter, to the website, to our event invitations and social media posts, they help spread the word amongst our membership and create awareness throughout the community that we are making an impact in Martin County!
I hope you are planning to join us on April 9th for the Grant Awards Celebration. I can’t wait to see you there!
With gratitude for your generosity no matter the form it takes,
| Maureen Cotter, President | |
Impact100 Martin Grants Committee members have been working diligently to evaluate the Letters of Intent. We are proud to announce the nine semifinalists who have been invited to submit a full application for an Impact Grant.

Thank You Breakfast for Impact100 at
Tykes & Teens Walk-in Assessment Center Open House
On January 31, Impact100 Martin members experienced firsthand the profound impact of their giving at Tykes & Teens' Walk-In Assessment Clinic. More than 30 members witnessed how their collective generosity is transforming lives. Click Here for a message from Tykes & Teens
AN ANONYMOUS RESPONSE TO HOW OUR WALK IN IMPACTED ONE OF OUR CLIENTS:
“Before our initial intake appt, my child was not willing to discuss anything with anyone. They agreed to starting therapy after the clinician explained they could help and if my child doesn’t like it, they can stop at any time. My child is willing to try to talk about their trauma thanks to Tykes & Teens.”
Jessica’s Story
When Jessica, a quiet and gentle 10-year-old, moved to Florida after her parents’ divorce, her whole world felt like it was falling apart. She didn’t know anyone at her new school, and instead of making friends, she found herself alone and targeted by bullies. Without familiar faces around her, and struggling to adapt to her new life, Jessica’s heart grew heavy with loneliness. The days became a blur of sleepless nights, constant tears, and growing anxiety until her despair felt too deep to bear. Her mother, desperate to help, took her to the Emergency Department, hoping for some relief, but the chaotic atmosphere only added to Jessica’s fear and stress. As of February 1st, we have 366 Members. Last year we had 422 total for the year. Of course we want to get to at least last year’s number of 422, but our BIG, BIG goal is to get to 500 so that we can give away FIVE $100,000 grants!
The race to get to 500 Members is in its final stages! Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to AWARD FIVE $100,000 grants on April 9, 2025 instead of FOUR?
Our membership deadline is February 28 so we have 22 days to get in all New and Renewed Members…and with over 100 members from last year who haven’t renewed yet, we should be able to achieve our goal of 500!!
The Community Captains in all of the communities including Pipers Landing, Stuart, Mariner Sands, Harbour Ridge, Willoughby, Sewall’s Point, IRP, Jensen Beach, Monarch, Yacht and Country Club, Sailfish Point, Soundings Yacht and CC, Small Biz, Martin Downs CC, and Sandhill Cove are working so hard to get in their renewals and recruit new members. Tammy Calabria's journey into the nonprofit world began at ARC Broward, where she transitioned from college to career overnight. After moving to Martin County in 2002, she quickly immersed herself in the community, joining the Junior League of Martin County and serving as a Board Member for the emerging Children's Museum. It was through this experience that she discovered her deep passion for philanthropy and community impact.
|
After seven years as a dedicated volunteer and Board Member, Tammy embraced her dream job as Executive Director of The Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast in 2009. Reflecting on the opportunity, she shares, "It was fate—at a time when I needed balance, I was given the opportunity of a lifetime. I’m incredibly lucky to love what I do and to be surrounded by an amazing team."
Beyond the museum, Tammy has served as a volunteer and Board Member for organizations including Tykes & Teens, AFP Treasure Coast, the Tourism Development Council, P.E.O. Reciprocity, Leadership Martin County, and the Junior League. In 2024, she joined Impact100 Martin and is enjoying her role on the Communications Team. Her greatest wish is for all nonprofits to collaborate, creating a brighter and more dynamic community together.

Palm City Eye Care
Since relocating to the Treasure Coast in 2015 from Atlanta, Georgia, Allison Prause has been looking for a way to impact the community. Her journey has been defined by a passion for service, a commitment to growth, and a deep dedication to her neighbors. Today, as a key team member at Palm City Eye Care, she plays an integral role in shaping both the practice's future and the community's wellbeing.
| | |
|
Allison has always been driven by a desire to serve the public. After settling into this area, she found that calling when she joined Palm City Eye Care in 2019. In just five years, she has been instrumental in helping the practice triple in size, thanks to her unwavering belief in Dr. Davis' vision for a small-town atmosphere paired with professionalism and innovation. The practice's motto, “Seeing our community as neighbors, treating our patients like family,” reflects this philosophy and has become the foundation of their success.
Some of the non profits in the area for which the practice regularly volunteers their time and resources are The Children’s Museum, Cayuga Centers and The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast. Palm City Eye Care is able to access these and other deserving channels, in part due to their membership in the Young Professionals of Martin County, the Palm City Chamber of Commerce, the Business Associates of Martin and The Stuart Sunrise Rotary Club.
Palm City Eye Care offers a range of specialized services, from board-certified optometrists to advanced in-house procedures, all while maintaining a personalized, intimate approach that makes each patient feel like part of the family. The practice’s attention to detail and dedication to providing the highest quality of care has earned Palm City Eye Care a reputation as a cornerstone of the local healthcare community. A reputation which Dr. Davis takes great pride in.
It is our hope that our sponsorship of Impact100 Martin will continue to be a positive driving force for change in the lives of our fellow community members.
