Dear members and friends:

Thank you again for a record-setting year. Our 7th season ended with 422 members funding four $100,000 Impact Grants. Congratulations again to the Impact Grant Recipients:

  • ARC of Martin County
  • Council on Aging of Martin County
  • Ocean Research & Conservation Association
  • Tykes & Teens

Even as I write this, today is “signing day” with these four organizations. That means we jointly sign contracts which include measurements and milestones. The organizations also receive their initial check from us with additional payments in installments that are tailored to each contract and the milestones. Accountability is a key component of the Impact model.

Each of the Merit Award Recipients has received an unrestricted grant of $7,333 from us. Congratulations to The Historical Society of Martin County, Senior Resource Association and Treasure Coast Wildlife Hospital for their excellent proposals and finalist status. All are eligible to apply again next year, unlike the Impact Grant Recipients.

Next month, the Board of Directors will elect its officers for the year and conduct our half-day strategic planning session. We will be in touch a few times throughout the summer with important updates as we get ready for another big year. In the meantime, please renew your membership as early as possible, refer your friends into membership and area businesses into sponsorship. Also, please identify nonprofits we should get to know as we continue the very successful work of the Visioning Team to improve the quantity and quality of grant applications. Grantmaking is and will continue to be our North Star.

With gratitude for your generosity no matter the form it takes.

Maureen Cotter, President

A powerful and unforgettable story of female strength and the triumph of the human spirit. — Pam Jenoff, author of The Diplomat’s Wife and Code Name Sapphire.

A timely story…of two strong minds coming together in the name of justice and equality.”—Sadeqa Johnson, author of The House of Eve.

Impact Book Club brings together Women With Opinions to discuss what they love (or hate!) about books that are great reads, but also make you think. If you’d like to join moderators Jill Preston and Linda Weiksnar on August 5 as we discuss the novelist and the novel, please RSVP by clicking on the link provided.

As always, although the event is informal, please make sure you have read the book if you plan to attend. The event is held in the private home of one of our members; the address will be provided to all who RSVP by August 2, 2024. And if you can’t make this one, don’t fret – we’ll announce another book after the August event!

Please bring your own beverage.

On Thursday May 4th, 64 members of Impact100 Martin enjoyed the beauty of Mariner Sands Country Club for an afternoon of golf and refreshments. With the theme of Birdies in Paradise, the golfers played an 18-hole scramble and met afterwards in the club’s Palm Grill to enjoy appetizers, prizes, swag bags and camaraderie. With clear skies and sunny weather, members enjoyed meeting other Impact100 Martin members!
