Dear members and friends:

Thank you again for a record-setting year. Our 8th season ended with 510 members funding five $100,000 Impact Grants. Congratulations again to the Impact Grant Recipients: Banner Lake Club, Project LIFT, Friends of the Everglades, House of Hope and Safe Space.

Within a few weeks of the Grant Awards Celebration we jointly signed contracts with each Grant Recipient which include measurements, milestones and tailored payment installments. Accountability is a key component of the Impact model.

This month, the Board of Directors will elect its officers for the upcoming year and conduct our half-day strategic planning session. We will be in touch a few times throughout the summer with important updates as we get ready for another big year. In the meantime, please renew your membership as early as possible, refer your friends into membership and area businesses into sponsorship. Also, please identify nonprofits we should get to know as we continue the very successful work of the Visioning Team to improve the quantity and quality of grant applications. Grantmaking is and will continue to be our North Star.

With gratitude for your generosity no matter the form it takes.

Maureen Cotter, President

We are deeply grateful to our Impact100 Martin members, the Community Foundation Martin-St. Lucie, our dedicated Grants Committee, and the local nonprofits whose visionary ideas continue to inspire. Following the 8th Annual Grant Awards Celebration, contracts have been finalized, and the first funding distributions were made on April 21.

Impact100 member Callaway Houtenbos, a Kentucky-bred lass who always yearned for the sun, happily moved to the Stuart area in 2012.  Now an enthusiastic realtor with Illustrated Properties, Callaway began her career as a Corporate Flight Attendant.

While working for a private family, she believes she met “some of the most fascinating people in the world.” She also met and subsequently married the aircraft’s pilot, Henk, who still works as a Captain in the industry.  With their five-year-old daughter, Nola, they have planted their roots in what they consider the happiest beach town on the Treasure Coast.

It was through her passion for tennis and the amazing women she met on the courts that she learned about Impact100 Martin. The meaningful difference she sees that we make in the community encouraged her to join, and she is excited to see what our inspiring group of women can accomplish in the years to come.

On Thursday May 1st, members of Impact100 Martin enjoyed the beauty of Mariner Sands Country Club for an afternoon of golf and refreshments. With the theme of Birdies in Paradise, the golfers played an 18-hole scramble and met afterwards in the club’s Palm Grill to enjoy appetizers, prizes, swag, and camaraderie. With clear skies and sunny weather, members enjoyed meeting other Impact100 Martin members!
