Dear members and friends:
Labor Day has always been a “turn the page” date on my calendar as the traditional end to summer and beginning of a new school year. I was always a bit of a school geek, but I loved a new pencil box, fresh folders and an empty to-do list for homework assignments. New beginnings, new possibilities.
This Labor Day has felt like a “turn the page” date for our Impact100 Martin chapter too. As we continue to grow in size and scale, we are embarking on a new beginning – our first paid staff position for an Operations Manager to provide administrative support. With 422 members, 100+ committee volunteers in Martin County, two major events and dozens of membership engagement opportunities there is a lot to coordinate. We also have all the infrastructure needs of a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, including nonglamorous things like IRS 990 filings and related compliance activities, records management, cyber-security, financial security, website maintenance and optimization of Neon, our administrative platform and member portal.
We are and will continue to be a volunteer-led organization. As your President, I am a volunteer. All the Board members and their committee members are volunteers. If we tried to count the volunteer hours and monetize them, it would be a staggering sum! With all that, we still need several hours a week from a dedicated administrator, based on the Treasure Coast. This would be an ideal position for someone who shares in our mission, loves to work with collaborative high-energy women and is skilled in “making the trains run on time”. Please read the related article in this newsletter and let us know of anyone who might be a good fit.
We are also headed into Kickoff season in high gear. I hope you will join us on November 7th, 5-7pm at the Kane Center to hear about our plans for Season 8 and be inspired by founding member, Carrie Morgridge, a driving force in philanthropy both in the Impact100 movement and private philanthropy. I am knee deep in her book, “Every Gift Matters: How Your Passion Can Change the World”. I can’t wait to hear from Carrie as she takes the stage to share her story and help us reach higher for that North Star of transformational grant-making. Registration is now open, so please join us and bring a friend (or two)!
With gratitude for your generosity no matter the form it takes,
| | Maureen Cotter, President | |
Join us for our season Kickoff
November 7, 2024
5:00pm-7:00pm
The Kane Center in Stuart
Keynote speaker, Carrie Morgridge
Join us in celebrating the start of our 8th year of bringing together a community of passionate, philanthropic women to make a lasting difference in Martin County. In addition to our keynote speaker, you will learn about Impact100 Martin's 2024-2025 season highlights and new initiatives.
Our keynote speaker will be Carrie Morgridge, a prominent philanthropist, author, and advocate for education and community improvement. Carrie was an early and enthusiastic supporter of Impact100. Her support helped transform Impact100 into the global movement that it is today, and she continues to mobilize and inspire women to make a difference in their communities. She is the author of three books, including Every Gift Matters: How Your Passion Can Change the World and Courage Money: A Guide to Becoming a Venture Philanthropist, and she has twice been invited to the TED stage. Her commitment to education, health, and community well-being has made her a recognized leader in the field of philanthropy.

2024 Annual Appeal Letter
In April of 2025 at our Grant Awards Celebration, we want to give out FIVE $100,000 grants!!
The more members we have, the more grants we can award. Your participation helps amplify our impact and extend our reach. Join us in expanding our network and increasing our capacity to support deserving initiatives.
To do that we need to up our membership from the 422 we had last year, to 500!! This is a very ambitious goal, but we are confident that we can do it WITH YOUR HELP!
If each of us brings in ONE new member, we will be all set. Please help by sharing the Impact100 story with your friends and colleagues.
LOOK 👀 for our annual appeal letter in your mailbox in the coming weeks. It will include a membership application and chapter update. Read it over, renew your membership by sending in your check or going on line with your credit card, and then…..
PASS the information along to at least ONE POTENTIAL member! Please, it is so easy. We have a great story and women want to be a part of the good work we do once they hear the story…and who better to hear it from than YOU?

Our grant cycle has begun!
On August 21, we held our annual grant writing workshop in collaboration with the Community Foundation of Martin-St. Lucie County. Much thanks to the Children’s Services Council who provided us the space to hold this important workshop for local nonprofits. Over 30 nonprofits were represented in this session which kicks off our eighth year of grant-making. The Visioning Team was in attendance and provided an overview of this optional service of support. The window for submitting a Letter of Intent is now open with a due date of December 6th.

Impact100 Martin members are encouraged to reach out to any local nonprofit and share with them resources that are available on our website, encouraging them to apply for an Impact Grant. Together, we can support local nonprofits in realizing their big dreams! | | |
We currently have 75 members committed for 2024-2025
Please renew as soon as possible so we can see where we stand towards achieving our goal of 500! Can you imagine what it would be like to award $100,000 to FIVE (5) non profits in April?!

Your Membership team needs help! Could you consider volunteering for one of these roles?
Community Captain for:
Loblolly/Jupiter Community which includes neighborhoods of: Heritage Oaks, Jupiter Island, Jupiter Narrows, Ranch Colony and Riverwood.
Port Salerno Community which includes: Hibiscus Park, Hobe Sound, Legacy Cove, Lost Lake, Mariner Cay, Mariner Village, North Hobe, Rocky Point and Tropical Farms
Our 16 Community Captains work to get new and renewed members. They organize 2-3 Meet & Mingles to introduce friend and neighbors to Impact100. It’s easy and a fun way to get more involved in your local community!
Meet & Mingle Coordinator
Work with the 16 Community Captains (CC) to schedule their Meet & Mingle (MM) events for Membership Year 2024/205
Create a calendar and/or spreadsheet which notes: the event, location of the event, special instructions (entry codes) to enter the neighborhood, host name and phone number, CC names and phone numbers, Membership team rep attending with her phone number, Grants team rep with her phone number
Membership Committee Speaker
Attend Meet & Mingles in various neighborhoods in the fall/winter to make the Membership team presentation to the guests. Must be passionate and knowledgeable about Impact100 Martin and enjoy speaking to small groups in a very casual setting. We count on you to turn MM guests into MEMBERS! Talking points and training provided
New Member Bag delivery
Work with Melissa Beck- Mariner Sands (who assembles New Member welcome bags-nametag, car magnet, post it note pad, welcome letter), to distribute the bags to either the new member herself, or to the Community Captain who wants to hand deliver the bags to new members in her community.
Our thanks go out to Judi Tidikis, Callaway Houtenbous, Barbara Wahle, Melissa Beck, Joanna Mangan, Terry Doying Main, Lorraine Kayser-Bradley, Patty Dapontes and all of our Community Captains who have already volunteered to take on roles on the Membership team.

Impact Book Club
The Secret Life Of Sunflowers: A gripping, inspiring novel based on the true story of Johanna Bonger, Vincent van Gogh's sister-in-law.
When Hollywood auctioneer Emsley Wilson finds her famous grandmother's diary while cleaning out her New York brownstone, the pages are full of surprises. The first surprise is, the diary isn't her grandmother's. It belongs to Johanna Bonger, Vincent van Gogh's sister-in-law.
Impact Book Club brings together Women With Opinions to discuss what they love (or hate!) about books that are great reads, but also make you think. If you’d like to join moderators Jill Preston and Linda Weiksnar on November 4th as we discuss the novelist and the novel
Please RSVP by November 1, 2024
As always, although the event is informal, please make sure you have read the book if you plan to attend.
The event is held in the private home of one of our members; the address will be provided to all who RSVP by November 1, 2024.
November 4th 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM
Please bring your own beverage.
