Nonprofit News and Events

Micah 6 Community

2020 grantee Micah 6 Community is hosting the "First Gala Ever" in support of their Webster Community Center project. The live/virtual hybrid event on February 25th features a keynote address by Congresswoman Haley Stevens, and a musical performance by the Melanie Rutherford Experience. The in-person option at the historic Strand Theater in Pontiac also includes dinner. Click the link below to become a sponsor, or to attend, virtually or in person.

Webster Gala

2020 Grant finalist Deaf Professional Artist Network made this year's Super Bowl more accessible. D-PAN founder and hip hop artists Sean Forbes, along with fellow artist Warren Snipe, provided the ASL interpretation of the huge musical halftime show in Los Angeles. Impact100 Metro Detroit is, once again, so happy to celebrate the successes of our past grantees and finalists. We are proud that so many of them have continued their good works at such a high level that they receive national recognition. Congrats, Sean and D-PAN!! Read more HERE.

Helping the Helpers

As we start 2022, we also want to reconnect with our past grantees and finalists to offer our continued support. Read on for more from our 2016 awardee the Empowerment Plan, and finalists Cass Community Social Services and Haven of Oakland County.

In the MotorCity, reliable transportation is a must. For those saving to purchase a car, putting $50 toward a bus pass every month can seem like 2 steps forward, 1 step back. But we can help! The Empowerment Plan needs help providing these passes to their team members. We can have DIRECT IMPACT on the quality of their lives, the lives of their children, and their journey to empowerment. Click on the link below to help.

Cass Community Social Services was a finalist in 2016 for their Tiny Homes project. This ongoing commitment to build affordable homes for low income residents, many of whom would never be able to afford a home on their own, has changed lives for everyone involved. If you would like to help them continue their work, or learn more about the project, visit their website by clicking this LINK.

Haven of Oakland County, our second 2016 finalist, applied for project that involved building a specialized playground for child survivors of domestic violence. The equipment was designed to give kids the space and confidence they need as they work with counselors to deal with their trauma. Haven is still working hard to support women and children in crisis. Help by attending their Gala this May. More HERE.
