Original Start Date: Monday, August 31st, 2020
New start date: Wednesday, September 2nd, 2020
Dear Presentation Families,
When we announced that we would be reopening to hold school in-person 5 days a week, we promised you that we would do so in a way that ensured your children and our staff would be safe and fully prepared to handle the challenges of this pandemic. Due to the ever-changing nature of the world we live in right now, we have made the decision to move our first day of classes from Monday August 31st to Wednesday, September 2nd. Our kindergarten class will keep their assessment dates of August 31st and September 1st, but their first day of in-person class will be on Friday, September 4th. There are a few reasons for this:
1. Some of the supplies that will help ensure the safety of everyone in the building have not yet arrived due to high demand. Their delivery date is Friday, August 28th, but we also need to assemble and set them up so they are ready for use the first day of school.
2. We have been blessed to have a number new families joining our school, and some are still finishing the registration process. We are so excited to welcome them to Presentation, and we owe it to them to make sure that our classrooms are properly set up to include every student. We want them to know from the first day of class that they are part of this family. Therefore, some reconfiguration of classrooms needs to happen to accommodate everyone while still following the best safety practices in the face of COVID-19.
We understand a change like this may cause for some last minute rearranging and planning on the part of our families, but we are committed to fulfilling our promise of a safe, prepared place for your children to learn and thrive. The whole world is living in a state of continuous flux, and we must all adapt and keep grace and understanding in our hearts.
If you have questions or concerns that you would like to discuss, feel free to reach out to either Principal Sue Lovegreen or Father Peter (contact info below).
Thank you for your understanding and patience and God bless every one of you.
