Effective immediately, South Carolina Regulation 7-702.5* is no longer suspended. Drive-thru and curbside sales of beer and wine to an individual in their vehicle is once again prohibited.
Individuals purchasing beer and wine are once again required to exit their vehicle and take possession of the beer and wine inside the retailer’s licensed premises.
As of June 7, 2021, the state of South Carolina is no longer under a state of emergency due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The temporary suspension of Regulation 7-702.5 was only effective while South Carolina remained in the officially-declared COVID-19 state of emergency.
* 7-702.5. Drive-In/Drive-Thru Establishments Prohibited. A permit holder, employee of a permit holder, or agent of a holder must not sell or deliver beer or wine to anyone who remains in a motor vehicle during the transaction. This regulation is specifically intended to prohibit the sale of beer and wine at drive-in/drive-thru establishments and on a curb service basis.
