The Arizona Board of Psychologist Examiners ("Board") notified psychologists and behavior analysts on August 3, 2021 that the agency's transition from the eLicensing platform to a new system would necessitate a blackout period during which licensure renewal functions would not be available. This update is being issued to the few licensees who were unable to renew in August, prior to the blackout.
Given that the data extractions from the eLicensing platform required a substantial amount of time to organize, validate, and map into the new system, the blackout period had to be extended to the last week of September. The Board anticipated this possibility and planned accordingly to ensure that no licensee experiences a lapse in licensure or incurs a late fee:
Once the new system goes live, Board staff will immediately notify licensees by email of its availability. The same information will be posted here.
- Board staff will prioritize phone calls and emails from licensees requiring assistance.
- Any licensee who is unable to renew by 11:59 p.m. on September 30, 2021 will be granted an extension to renew until 11:59 p.m. on October 31, 2021. Board staff will post notice of any extensions granted on the website, and will issue written verification of that extension upon request.
- All late/reinstatement fees will be waived for any licensee through 11:59 p.m. on October 31, 2021.
Please have all of your completed continuing education for the current license period assembled and ready to enter into the new system; this will help ensure the most efficient renewal process.
This shift to the new system remedies the many deficiencies and challenges licensees experienced with eLicensing. While necessary, the Board recognized a small subset of licensees would be impacted regardless of the timing. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
If you do not intend to renew your Arizona license that expires September 30, 2021, please disregard this message.
