Last night, the Mayor and Council approved John Bossolt and Mike Stallone as Special Law Enforcement Officers - Class III (SLEO III). These officers will be providing armed security for the students and staff members at the elementary schools. Special thanks to Mayor Misciagna and Chief Madden for their guidance and assistance throughout this endeavor.
Officer Bossolt is a retired police officer from the Township of Montclair where he also served as a DARE Instructor. He looks forward to working with the East Brook School Community as their dedicated security officer.
Officer Stallone is a retired member of the Bergen County Sheriff's Department where he served as the Commander of the Crime Scene Unit. He is excited to start working with the West Ridge School Community.
Officer Bossolt and Officer Stallone will start working at their respective schools on Monday, May 15th.
For those of you who are interested in meeting both officers, the administration is holding a "Meet & Greet" on Thursday, May 18th, at 6:30 PM in the East Brook Media Center. This will be followed by "Coffee with the Superintendent" at 7:00 PM.
Chief Madden and the BOE Security Committee have selected a SLEO III for PRHS. However, the individual is unable to start until September 1st due to a current work obligation. In the meantime, the PRPD will increase patrols and walk-throughs at the high school in order to ensure everyone's safety and security for the remainder of the school year. More information about the candidate will be released at the end of August.
Please join the BOE in welcoming John Bossolt and Mike Stallone to the Park Ridge School District. They will be a great addition to our faculty and staff at the elementary schools.
