In light of the current public health state of emergency and concerns resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Texas TSA Board of Directors and your executive director has made the difficult decision to cancel our 2020 State Conference in Fort Worth, TX on April 16-18, 2020.
The Texas TSA Board of Directors has chosen to follow the latest recommendations from the CDC to cancel all mass gatherings greater than 50 for the next 8 weeks. This recommendation along with the number of schools who are currently under a travel ban or who are in districts that are currently closed is the basis for making this difficult decision. The safety of our students and advisors is our number one priority.
Currently all hotel reservations are being canceled on behalf of our Chapters. Please do NOT contact the hotel directly or Key Bookings. This will only slow the process and delay in getting your cancelation confirmation.
Texas TSA has frozen all financial transactions (deposits/payments) for the next two weeks in order for us to take care of cancellations. Any check that arrives after 3/18/20 for State Conference will be held and not deposited. If you have a refund due, we will send out information on how to apply for your refund in the next two weeks.
A Texas TSA virtual conference is being planned, stay tuned for full details. Currently there will be no changes in the Conference Registration system. Once the plan details are released, ALL schools/districts will have an opportunity to revise and/or cancel their registration.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult situation. As disappointing and inconceivable as it is to not have a State Conference, the health and safety of one another is most important at this time.
