Apologies for the short notice, I was just notified of the following important public meeting. The Arizona Independent Redistricting Commission (IRC) invites Glendale residents to participate in its first round of statewide public hearings with a hearing scheduled for this Saturday, July 24 starting at 10 a.m. at the Glendale Civic Center located at 5750 W Glenn Dr, Glendale, AZ 85301.
Information will be presented about the redrawing of Arizona’s congressional and legislative districts. Voting districts determine what district a resident will vote in for representation in the United States Congress and the Arizona State Legislature.
One of the goals of the IRC public hearings is to solicit public input about communities of interest. Public comment received during these meetings will be used by the IRC to help inform the drawing of new district boundaries. There are forms available at the public hearings, and or on the IRC website that can be used to define an area that participants and community leaders feel should be considered a community of interest.
For more information about the Independent Redistricting Commission or to submit electronic comments, please visit www.irc.az.gov.
Council meetings have been recessed until August 10, however my office is open and ready to assist you. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns that you may have. I value your input and opinion.
