Important Announcements from Adyashanti
As some of you know I have been dealing with an extreme physical pain issue for nearly 20 years. I am happy to say that in the last year or so the pain issue has finally been resolved. However, dealing with such an extremely difficult issue over a long period of time while traveling and teaching around the world has left me both physically and emotionally exhausted. And although I had wanted to continue to teach during this period of great challenge for the world community, it became obvious that l very much need a break and time away from teaching in order to recoup and recover in body, mind, and spirit from so many years of great physical challenges. So I will be taking a sabbatical beginning right after the Spirit Rock program on October 24 and lasting through next year. I look at this time away from teaching as a time to rest, heal, and rejuvenate.
“I have entrusted Mukti (my wife and longtime Open Gate Sangha teacher) to assume the head teaching role during my absence.”
I have entrusted Mukti (my wife and longtime Open Gate Sangha teacher) to assume the head teaching role during my absence. Mukti will be teaching the Sunday Community Practice sessions as well as offering many other teachings during the next year. I am extremely grateful not only for Mukti’s presence in my life but for her unwavering commitment to supporting the sangha so wholeheartedly and selflessly. I plan on being present at most of the Sunday Community Practice sessions to join in with you all during the meditations. My hope is that this year brings us all into a deeper commitment to our spiritual practice and to always moving from the heart.

Through our practice and insight we remain connected in the “one heart” and “one mind” that flows and expresses itself through and as each one of us. I send you all great love, peace and happiness.

A Time to Step Forward
Adya has chartered a path for the sangha community and his teachings for 25 years, likely over thousands of talks, continually leaning in and discovering new words and new ways to point the way. His teachings have been given life through him and beyond him. They carry forward and find a home in you and in me. This dharma carries us, as much as we carry it. The dharma’s journey is without end, when it is nourished, lived, and renewed.

During Adya’s time away, replenishing and restoring, I put forth a call to you: to actively tend to the dharma and nurture it by engaging in your practices of meditation and self-inquiry, and in willingly meeting life with an open heart and mind. I invite you to join in the ongoing Sunday Community Practice and several events that I will be offering in the near future and in 2022, to further nourish the peace and light of consciousness within you, that it might weave its way into your heart, mind, body, and beyond.

~ Mukti

We invite you to watch Mukti’s first talk as head teacher: Weaving Consciousness.” It’s one of her best!
