June 3, 2025

Dear Pleasantville Families,

At tonight’s Board of Education meeting, the Board approved my resignation effective June 30, 2025.

It was almost four years ago when I started in Pleasantville, and when I look at what we have accomplished together, I am extremely proud of the work that has been done in the District. The relationships that I have with the students, staff, families, and community members will last a lifetime. I appreciate your commitment to students and an education system that supports the growth and development of the whole child.

Your support and friendship will forever impact my life, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the warm memories.

For the youth,

Dr. DeSa

From the Board of Education

Dear Pleasantville Families,

At the Board of Education meeting this evening, the board approved the resignation of Superintendent Dr. Tina DeSa effective June 30, 2025. We want to express our gratitude to Dr. DeSa for her service and wish her success in her future endeavors.

We are pleased to share that the Board is finalizing an agreement with an experienced superintendent who will serve as an interim superintendent, beginning in July 2025. We believe that bringing on an interim superintendent gives us sufficient time to identify the most important experience and traits in our next superintendent and to ensure involvement from all stakeholders in the search process. We look forward to making a comprehensive announcement about the interim superintendent later this week.

We recognize that any change in leadership is significant and assure you that the stability and excellence of our schools will remain our top priority. Both Dr. DeSa and the Board of Education are committed to ensuring a thoughtful and smooth transition to the interim superintendent, and we appreciate her partnership. We will continue to keep you informed in the weeks ahead, including opportunities to connect with the interim leader.

Pleasantville is truly a special community, and we are steadfast in our dedication to preserving the values, culture, and strengths that make our district exceptional, especially as we navigate periods of change and growth. We are excited to embark on this collaborative journey with you to find a visionary leader who will continue to champion the success of every student in Pleasantville.

Sincerely,

The Pleasantville Board of Education
