Dear Members and Friends of Dayspring United Methodist Church,

After a time of consultation and prayer, Bishop Carlo A. Rapanut has discerned that there will be a change in appointment at your church. Bishop Rapanut intends to appoint Rev. Joel Bullock to serve as Pastor at St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Mesa, AZ, effective July 1, 2023. Rev. Bullock will continue to serve as your associate pastor through June 30, 2023.

Pastor Joel has been your pastor for the last ten years. During that time, we know that you have come to appreciate the many gifts he has brought to your church and the ways in which he has helped you to grow in your faith and move you forward as a congregation. In the time between now and when Pastor Joel begins his new appointment, we know you will want to find appropriate ways to express your gratitude to Joel for all that he means to you and the ministry of your church.

Bishop Rapanut and the appointive cabinet have been in prayerful discussion and have also been in discussion with your SPRC. We hope to be able to share with you soon the news about your next appointed pastor. We are praying for you during this time of change.
