Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! We hope that you and your family have enjoyed a restful summer and are excited to begin a new school year at Bishop Chatard High School. We look forward to welcoming our students back to school on August 6!

Our theme for the school year is "trust in Him always, and He will make straight your paths." What a powerful way to begin a new year. We look forward to the excitement of new experiences, new memories, and new challenges that provide each of us opportunities to advance our faith, learning, leadership, and service. We also welcome the fruitful reminder that in all we do, no matter how difficult the challenge, or how great the achievement, we are called to trust in Him always. We pray that we are able to follow the path he has laid out for each of us this school year, and we could not be more excited to partner with you.

2025-2026 Orientation Information

All students are required to attend orientation. Please watch for separate emails regarding orientation sessions for transfer students, freshmen and upperclassmen. Please note that transfer students should attend both the transfer and upperclassmen orientation sessions.

Back-to-School Night & Senior Parent Meeting - Wednesday, August 13 

Bishop Chatard will hold its annual Back-to-School Night on Wednesday, August 13 in the Varsity Gym. A meeting for parents of seniors covering important events and requirements of your student's senior year will immediately follow.

5:00-5:30 pm - Schedule pick-up

5:30-5:45 pm - Prayer and Welcome

5:45-7:20 pm - Class visits

7:30 pm - Senior Parent Meeting

Policy Updates 

Uniforms

In the second semester last year, several reminders were shared in regards to school uniforms. This will continue to be a point of emphasis this school year. We will share with students at orientation that the school uniform will be enforced daily. These uniform expectations will be shared: 

• Shoes are expected to be tennis shoes or dress shoes. 
• Outside sweatshirts or jackets are not permitted on non uniform days
• School uniforms should be from Schoolbelles
• School uniforms should not be altered, cut, hemmed, or adjusted 
• School shorts are expected to be midthigh in length, or 4-5 inches from the center of the knee cap

School Bell Schedule

In the Spring of 2025, Bishop Chatard sent home a letter updating parents on changes to the school bell schedule. These changes have been covered in new parent meetings. A copy of that update, along with a list of FAQs and answers, can be found here. 

The PowerSchool Parent Portal is OPEN

The PowerSchool Parent Portal is now open. We ask all parents to please log in to your parent portal and complete the Annual Update Form by Friday, August 15.

If you have a freshman or transfer student, you received an email yesterday with more detailed instructions on how to create a parent portal (if needed) to complete the annual update form.

Helpful Hints:

• You can't complete the annual update on the app. It must be done on the website.
• It is easiest to complete on a laptop computer, and not a phone.
• Only ONE parent/guardian needs to fill out the annual update.
• The update needs to be completed for each student at Bishop Chatard. You can navigate between students by using the tabs at the top left after you log in.
• If you log in and your portal says "disabled," you may need to wait until your grade school opens their portal.
• Forgot your username or password? Select "forgot username or password" at the bottom of the sign-in page and follow the instructions. Note: you might not receive the reset information immediately; it could take several hours. Also, always check your spam folder.
• If you are still having trouble logging into the PowerSchool Parent Portal, please contact Allison Mayer at amayer@bishopchatard.org.

School Pictures

School pictures will be taken during Freshman and Upperclassmen Orientation. Please complete this form and have your son or daughter bring it with them to orientation. If you would like to purchase photos, payment for photos is also required at the time photos are taken. All students, regardless of whether photos are purchased, will have their picture taken.

Trinity Club

Bishop Chatard has many volunteer opportunities for parents. Every family is automatically a member of the BCHS Trinity Club, a wonderful way to meet other parents while participating in the mission and success of Bishop Chatard. Cafeteria Info and Free & Reduced Lunch

Free & Reduced Applications Open August 1, 2025

A reminder that everyone needs to reapply each year, unless a student is considered Directly Certified (those that receive TANF, SNAP, Medicaid, or any FSSA Benefit). Income-based applications are processed within 24 hours and benefits are applied immediately. 

Students who are Directly Certified will receive formal notification by August 6, 2025. If you do not receive notification, please email or call the Foodservice Director, Michael Dlugosz.

Please do not assume that your student is receiving benefits unless you have received formal notification. Please reach out if you are unsure of your benefits.
