Updated - Skokie Updated Outdoor Dining Guidelines Provide Additional Flexibility

Phase 4 Updated Restaurant & Bar Establishment Safety Guidelines

​Based on a recent increase in COVID-19 cases, these latest safety guidelines which took effect on August 26, 2020 will require restaurant and bar patrons to wear a mask during any interaction with wait staff, food service workers and other employees at these establishments. Face coverings must be worn over the nose and mouth when patrons are approached and served by staff, including but not limited to when employees take patrons orders, deliver food and beverages, and service tables. This guidance will also apply to other facilities with food services areas that are currently subject to the Restore Illinois guidance, such as indoor recreational facilities, museums and entertainment venues.

Village of Skokie Economic Recovery Plan Unveiled

In response to COVID-19, Skokie Mayor George Van Dusen was one of the first suburban Chicago mayors to establish the Skokie Economic Recovery Task Force. Between May 12 through July 29, 2020, the Task Force met regularly via Zoom to help guide and assist Village staff, leadership, and the community to develop a thoughtful and actionable Economic Recovery Plan. Recommendations identified focus on priorities deemed essential by Task Force Members, community members, elected officials, and from discussions and feedback received from over 250 Skokie-based businesses and service providers across all segments of the economy. To view the report CLICK HERE or on the cover page below.
