Dear PRWS Community,
In response to mounting international and local concern around COVID-19, members of the PRWS faculty, staff, and board met today to determine the course of action to best meet the collective needs of our immediate and broader communities. In consultation with VMH and other local school administrations,
it was determined that, as of Monday, March 16, school will be paused with no classes in-session until further notice.
Faculty (where appropriate and feasible) will spend this next week formulating and preparing ways to continue to engage our students during what is likely to be an extended, although undefined closure. We anticipate that quite soon a broader school closure mandate will come from the state of Wisconsin. Things are changing rapidly; within the past hour, Vernon County has declared a state of emergency.
Please know that there will be more communication with details for school families as it becomes available. Expect to hear from your class teachers, who will be in communication regarding plans for distance learning options. In the interim, please reference this week's Lunchbox Express for guidance around how to talk with your children.
As to upcoming school gatherings there will be multiple postponements:
March 14 - Clean-up Day & Clothing Exchange
March 21 - Raffle Party (the raffle drawing will still happen on this date, just without a super fun party details to come)
March 28 - 40th Anniversary Dinner & Celebration
April 3 - Spring Concert
Please know we will, of course, continue to monitor the global, national, regional, and local conditions, and communicate any decisions as soon as they are made.
Be well,
PRWS Faculty, Board, and Staff
