March 12, 2020
As we continue to watch the COVID-19 pandemic unfold, and in light of recommendations from Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and CWRU, we have made the incredibly difficult decision to
suspend all in-person instruction (including private lessons and chamber coachings) and cancel all student recitals through April 6.
All instruction will still take place via video conferencing and other modes of online learning. Please work with your studio faculty to arrange for your distance lessons.
- Building hours: The building will be closed on Sunday, March 15, other than from noon to 4pm. This time period is primarily to allow those who need items from their lockers to retrieve them. The building hours on Monday, March 16 and Tuesday, March 17 will be 7:15am-10pm.
- Work study: We understand the financial importance of your campus jobs, so work study will be paid during this hiatus. Your supervisors will be in touch with more information once it is available.
- Communications: CIM has a comprehensive COVID-19 response webpage, where information is collected and many of the email communications are provided. Find it at cim.edu/health-updates.
A separate message will be sent to Cutter House residents with some additional important information.
If you have questions or concerns, please email Dean Sweigart.
We realize this is having a profound impact on your experience at CIM and appreciate your continued flexibility and understanding. Our decisions in this matter are all focused on the health and well-being of our students. All of the CIM staff and faculty are ready to help you complete your instruction and continue to learn and grow in the methods that are available.
