FHSD Families and Community Members:

We are writing to inform you of important changes to the 2024-2025 school year calendar approved at the Nov. 21 Board of Education meeting. These adjustments align with new state requirements under Senate Bill 727, ensuring our district qualifies for additional state funding to be used for teacher salaries.

Key Changes to the Current School Year Calendar:

* On the new Partial School Days (January 17 and March 21), students will begin school at their regular time. Specific dismissal times are still being determined and will be communicated to families before Winter Break.

An additional change impacts only middle and high school students:

• The Collaboration Wednesday Early Release day originally scheduled for January 15, 2025 has been moved to January 22, 2025. Secondary students will have a full day of school on January 15 and will release at the Collaboration Wednesday time on January 22. 

Please note that the snow day plan has also been adjusted. Snow days 1-4 will use Alternative Methods of Instruction (AMI). Any further snow days will be made up at the end of the school year.
