Dear Vanguard Families,

As you may be aware, the CDC issued new COVID-19 guidance late Friday afternoon. Following this update the member of our Health and Safety Team conducted a review of our plan and we will adjust our restrictions to be in-line with current CDC recommendations.

Beginning Monday March 7, 2022 masks will be optional in all buildings and locations across campus, for staff and students. We recognize that many families may prefer their children continue to wear masks indoors despite this new option. Staff will continue to stress the importance of respecting individual families’ decisions as well as proper handwashing and hygiene skills. We continue to ask that you use the daily screening guide for students located on our website and that symptomatic children stay home from school.

Over the upcoming weeks we will begin to lift additional restrictions that have been in place. Some of these changes will include opening the cafeteria for lunch periods, re-instituting “Friday Rewards”, flexibility with meeting locations, and student co-mingling.
As we move forward, The Health and Safety Team will continue to review COVID-19 mitigation practices and make further adjustments based on CDC guidance and Chester County’s health status.

We are hopeful that this is the proverbial “light at the end of the tunnel.” We look forward to seeing many smiling faces on Monday.
Sincerely,

Lisa Wood
