Dear Miss Hall’s School Families,

Good news: we will return to hybrid learning this week, based on the results of our most recent coronavirus testing yesterday.

Seventy-five tests were administered on Friday. Approximately 60 day and boarding students were among those tested including those students who have been in quarantine after being identified as potential close contacts, all came back negative. The individuals who previously tested positive for COVID have completed their isolation period and are cleared to return to regular activities.

Students can now move out of quarantine, and our campus condition will move from ORANGE to YELLOW  (open with restrictions, hybrid classes, and limited visitors with advanced permission). We will also begin spring athletics, including off-campus activities such as equestrian and hiking, on Monday. Further details about the week’s schedule will follow in tomorrow’s Deans’ letter..

I want to thank everyone for their patience as we navigated uncharted waters and managed two active coronavirus cases on campus. The students were particularly community-minded, taking great care to follow our Common Good Guidelines and remain vigilant about limiting community spread. Our adults also did great work, shifting to remote learning while making sure students were supported.

The Incident Response Team will continue monitoring local and campus conditions, and we will keep you apprised of any developments affecting the community. We are surely not out of the woods when it comes to managing this pandemic, but we have shown we can safely and effectively do in-person learning and activities, and we have learned that our protocols can keep the community healthy and safe.

I send peace to all who are observing the Passover and Easter holidays, and I ask you to please limit group gatherings to your household and practice masking and distancing whenever possible, even if some attendees may be vaccinated. We have done a great job of maintaining community health this year, and it is important that we do not let down our guard.

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or my colleagues below with questions or concerns.

Best,
Julia Heaton, Head of School
