An Update from us on COVID-19
March 23, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As you know, the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation continues to develop. Life - in at least the near term - is different and disrupted, for all of us. Whatever that disruption is for you, on behalf of all of us at DCDC, we want you to know that you and your families’ safety and health is of the utmost importance to us.

For this reason, it is with heartfelt emotions that DCDC’s Board of Directors and Leadership announce the continued closure of DCDC during these unprecedented times. We have taken this decision to remain closed after much deliberation and thought. We have listened to many voices of concerned parents and have taken our tremendous staff into consideration. We feel as an extended family to you, your kids, and the community, we are making the best decision in keeping everyone safe from harm during this time.

Whether this is your first year with the DCDC family, or several years with us, our Mission has always remained the same. We want to provide programming in a SAFE and NURTURING environment for all our children, families and staff. We are committed to offering the highest quality early learning experiences for our children, and feel we can only accomplish this with your understanding and your support for this difficult decision we have had to make.

We understand that many families need to make alternate arrangements for their children during these times. These are stressful times for not only the children, but also for many parents as well. Please know that we are here to help as we all try to navigate through these next couple of months. We would love nothing more than to keep the lines of communication open, check in with one another, and do our best to help one another get through. We are working closely with our teachers to assist them in the ability to communicate directly with your children. Please also keep an eye on our Facebook pages for activities and resources. The Leadership team at DCDC will be working through this time and contact information for each can be found at the end of this letter. You can also communicate directly through the Brightwheel app.

We are delighted, appreciative, and thankful to be a part of your children’s lives and take this responsibility that you have given us very seriously. We hope you understand the difficulty in our decision but support our reasons for making them.  We will monitor the Governor’s orders as they are provided and will stay focused on the latest updates regarding COVID-19 developments. As soon as we feel the children, families, staff and the community are out of harm’s way, we will once again open our doors to everyone. After March 27, 2020, there will be no tuition due.

Remember, you are not alone, we are all working through this together.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Be well,
Diana Verbeck
