Important Dates!
Greeting Shooters!
I hope the new year is already off to a great start for everyone! Things are shifting into high gear here as we head into the busiest—and most exciting—part of our season. Preparations for the Hall of Fame Shoot honoring Mark Zauhar are wrapped up, and final planning for the 110th Florida State Shoot is well underway.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our sponsors—and yes, the skyrocketing price of silver—this year’s State Shoot is shaping up to be something truly special with over $50,000 in prizes and added money being given away!
It would be an incredible accomplishment for the FTA if we could push this years shoot to become a Competition Factor 5. For those unfamiliar with the ATA All American Points System, the Competition Factor is the points multiplier for a given tournament. The Competition Factor is based on the number of entries in your shoot HAA (Events 10 - 12). Last year we were just under 100 entries from making it to a 5. Every entry gets us closer to that threshold so please promote our shoot where ever you can!
If you caught our advertisement in the December issue of Trap & Field, you’ve already seen a preview of what’s in store. If not, be sure to check out the updated flyer below! The full program is expected to be released in the coming days, so stay tuned. In the meantime, please mark your calendars and keep the following dates and deadlines in mind:
- January 16 - Kick off for the FTA Winter Handicap League
- January 21 – Last day to submit bylaw change proposals to the FTA Secretary
- January 30 – February 1 – 25th Annual FTA Hall of Fame Shoot
- March 2 – Deadline to submit nominations for FTA elected positions
- March 17 – 22 – 110th Florida State Shoot
- March 20 at 8:00 AM – ATA Delegate Nomination Meeting
- March 21 (after shootoffs) – FTA Annual Meeting of the Membership
- May 1 – 3 – FTA Spring Championship
We still have room for additional sponsors if you would like to be part of the action! The deadline to sponsor a field or display a banner at the shoot will be March 1st. Email me at @ president@floridatrap for more information!
We’re looking forward to an outstanding season and can’t wait to see you on the line. More updates coming soon!
