The LA Fashion District Board of Directors oversees the Business Improvement District (BID) responsible for providing clean and safe services, marketing and communications, advocacy, and economic development for the LA Fashion District. We're currently accepting applications for new Board Members to commence on January 1st, 2020. For more information about being a Board Member, please click here.

The deadline to apply is Friday, September 13th at 5pm.
In May, the Fashion District's Board of Directors determined that an update of committee structure was needed. It was decided that (2) new committees would be formed -- a District Issues Committee and a Policy Committee. Click here for more information about these committees.

The District Issues Committee will specifically deal with district operations, including clean and safe programs, private property updates, and the management of public space and infrastructure upgrades.

The BID recently published the Q2 Trend Report, providing an update on all the development projects in the LA Fashion District. The report includes projects that have been proposed and approved, projects that are currently under construction, and projects that have been completed within the last year. The Trend Report is available on the website's Reports & Statistics page and should serve as a great resource for inquiries and interest about development in the district. The LA Fashion District BID has begun outreach with various e-scooter companies represented in DTLA. The purpose of this outreach is to establish and foster relationships with the e-scooter companies that may have the capacity and ability to establish "no riding zones" in strategic areas of the district by using geofencing technology that's available and currently being used in other cities.

The Downtown BIDs recently completed a comprehensive lighting survey that covered most of DTLA. Together, the BIDs reported over 1,000 street lights to the Bureau of Street Lighting that were either out, broken, or damaged. In the Fashion District alone, 143 lights were reported, and of that 143, we've received email confirmations that 82 of the lights have been fixed.

Park(ing) Day is an international annual event that encourages encourages community members to transform traditional metered parking spaces into temporary parklets.

This year, the LA Fashion District BID is teaming up with Theoforma to install a temporary art piece inspired by the Fashion District's colorful fabrics. This installation, along with others in collaboration with The Local Spaw, Stumptown, West Elm, and George's Barbershop will allow the public to take a journey through the urban fabric of the LA Fashion District through creative space activation.
