A Snapshot: Understanding the USHJA and US Equestrian
Equestrians wishing to compete at a national level in the Hunter and Jumper disciplines obtain memberships to two organizations—the U.S. Equestrian Federation and U.S. Hunter Jumper Association. Each year, the USHJA Foundation will award up to $25,000 to one USHJA member to be used for college, graduate, trade or professional school.

USHJA Hunterdon Cup Equitation Classic-East Coast and West Coast, presented by Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College
The 2019 USHJA Hunterdon Cup Equitation Classic-East Coast and West Coast, presented by Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College, held during the USEF Junior Hunter National Championships, is open to any Junior rider that has won either a USEF Hunter Seat Medal, ASPCA Maclay, USEF Show Jumping Talent Search or Overall WIHS Equitation class at a competition with a start date between June 1, 2018, and May 31, 2019. USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Program
Enroll in the USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Program by June 1 to receive the discounted rate of $550. Enrollment increases to $750 on June 2. The USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Program is open to 3', 3'3", 3'6" and 3'9" Green Hunters.
Enrolled horses are eligible to compete in USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Stake Classes, a USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Regional Championship and the 2019 Platinum Performance/USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Championships. For more information and to enroll, visit

USHJA International Hunter Derby Program
Enroll in the USHJA International Hunter Derby Program by June 1 to receive the discounted rate of $550. Enrollment increases to $750 on June 2.
Enrollment is not required to compete in an International Hunter Derby class, however enrolled horses are eligible for inclusion on money won tracking lists, to participate in the 2019 Platinum Performance/USHJA International Hunter Derby Championship, and are eligible for regional and national year-end awards. Platinum Performance/USHJA International Hunter Derby Championship
Qualifying ends June 1 for the 2019 Platinum Performance/USHJA International Hunter Derby Championship.
Horses enrolled in the USHJA International Hunter Derby Program that have earned a minimum of $500 in USHJA International Hunter Derby classes, while enrolled, at competitions starting between June 2, 2018, and June 1, 2019, are eligible to compete. The 2019 Championship will be held August 15-17, 2019, at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.

once during the membership year and have until June 1 to notify the USHJA of the change in writing.

USHJA Pony Hunter Derby Championship - East

After a successful inaugural debut, the

/USHJA National Championships are set to return in 2019 at The Las Vegas National, CSI4*-W, in Las Vegas, Nev., Nov. 12-17, pending approval by US Equestrian.
Members qualify largely based on Zone Horse of the Year points or Zone events. Points earned from competitions with a start date from Dec. 1, 2018, to Sept. 13, 2019, will count toward qualifying. Learn more at
