Show Jumping Rider Ranking List
The Show Jumping Rider Ranking List is a master ranking list organized nationally as well as regionally, where jumper riders earn points by earning money in specific grand prix or special classes at competitions. Classes are organized into two levels, Level 1 and Level 2, based on fence height, prize money and other specifications.
USHJA Jumper Classic Series
Debuting in 2020, the USHJA Jumper Classic Series offers jumper riders competing from 1.10m to 1.40m an opportunity to earn additional prize money, Zone HOTY bonus points, and awards and recognition.

In addition to prize money, ribbons and series prizes, the top nationally ranked junior and amateur rider at each height level will be awarded entry into a USHJA Gold Star Clinic at the height in which they qualify. Learn more at ushja.org/jumperclassic .
USHJA Outreach Program
The USHJA Outreach Program provides members at any level of membership with an opportunity to earn national recognition in classes from walk/trot to 3'0" in hunter, jumper and equitation sections at rated and local competitions. Outreach competitions may be hosted by any organization meeting the minimum criteria, whether USEF-rated or local, unrecognized competitions. USHJA supports local competitive and educational opportunities for hunter/jumper equestrians through its zone structure and affiliate organization members. Additionally, Affiliates are invited to send their best 2' and 2'6" horse-and-rider combinations to the 2020 Affiliate Championships at the AON/USHJA National Championships .

EAP Zone Grants

USHJA zones have set aside funding to help members participate in the Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund/USHJA Emerging Athletes Program. To see grants available in your zone, find your zone at ushja.org/Zones and click on "Grants & Scholarships."
EAP Regional Training Sessions

The Lindsay Maxwell Charitable Fund/USHJA Emerging Athletes Program is an educational and competitive opportunity for riders to learn from leading clinicians while advancing their riding and horsemanship skills. Apply online at ushja.org/EAP .

The clinic will be offered at two height levels this year: .90m and 1.0m. The program is open to ages 12 and up, but only riders ages 12 to 25 will be eligible for the EAP National Training Session. Find and apply to the regional training session nearest you by April 1.
Early Application Deadline: Zone Jumper Team and Platinum Jumper Championships
Riders interested in competing in the USHJA Zone Jumper Team Championships must submit an application and earn a minimum of 20 points in their respective section at USEF-licensed competitions by their zone’s deadline for a chance to qualify. Prior to April 10, the application fee is $75 per horse. After April 10, the fee increases to $150 per horse.

Zone Educational Grants and Scholarships

Do you have college or educational goals you would like to accomplish? Various educational grants and scholarships are available to USHJA members through their USHJA Zone.

$25,000 USHJA Hamel Scholarship for Further Education

Each year, the USHJA will award up to $25,000 to one USHJA member to be used for college, graduate, trade or professional school.

Current USHJA members who have been members for at least three consecutive years are eligible for the scholarship. Access application materials online at ushja.org/foundation/hamel .
USHJA Pony Hunter Derby Championship - East
In 2020, two USHJA Pony Hunter Derby Championships will be offered—one on either coast. Ponies qualify by competing in at least one USHJA Pony Hunter Derby class during the qualifying period. USHJA Zone Jumper Team Championships

A competitive team experience and an opportunity to earn Zone Horse of the Year points in the Children's and Adult Amateur (1.10/1.15m) , 1.20/1.25m Junior and Amateur , and 1.30/1.35m Junior and Amateur Jumper sections . Individual medalists will earn the title of Gold Star Emerging Jumper Rider and will be invited to participate in a 2020 USHJA Gold Star Clinic.

Applications close and the qualifying period ends on the same day. Apply to have your points count toward qualifying at ushja.org/ZoneJumper .
USHJA Gladstone Cup Equitation Classic-East Coast and West Coast, presented by Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College

The 2019 USHJA Gladstone Cup Equitation Classic-East Coast and West Coast, presented by Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College, (formerly Hunterdon Cup) held during the USEF Junior Hunter National Championships, is open to any Junior rider that has won either a USEF Hunter Seat Medal, ASPCA Maclay, USEF Show Jumping Talent Search or Overall WIHS Equitation class at a competition with a start date between June 1, 2019, and May 31, 2020. USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Program

Enroll in the USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Program by June 1 to receive the discounted rate of $550. Enrollment increases to $750 on June 2. The USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Program is open to 3', 3'3", 3'6" and 3'9" Green Hunters.

Enrolled horses are eligible to compete in USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Stake Classes, a USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Regional Championship and the 2020 Platinum Performance/USHJA Green Hunter Incentive Championships. For more information and to enroll, visit ushja.org/GreenIncentive.

USHJA International Hunter Derby Program

Enroll in the USHJA International Hunter Derby Program by June 1 to receive the discounted rate of $550. Enrollment increases to $750 on June 2.

Enrollment is not required to compete in an International Hunter Derby class, however enrolled horses are eligible for inclusion on money won tracking lists, to participate in the 2020 Platinum Performance/USHJA International Hunter Derby Championship, and are eligible for regional and national year-end awards. Platinum Performance/USHJA International Hunter Derby Championship

Qualifying ends June 1 for the 2020 Platinum Performance/USHJA International Hunter Derby Championship.

Horses enrolled in the USHJA International Hunter Derby Program that have earned a minimum of $500 in USHJA International Hunter Derby classes, while enrolled, at competitions starting between June 2, 2019, and June 1, 2020, are eligible to compete. The 2020 Championship will be held August 13-15 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.

WCHR members may change their Member Category once during the membership year and have until June 1 to notify the USHJA of the change in writing.

The 30-Day HQC Stable Challenge

The 30-day HQC Stable Challenge runs from June 15 to July 15 and is a great way to get the whole barn (adults too!) involved in learning about horsemanship and caring for our equine partners.

To participate, at least three junior and/or amateur students per trainer must take the online Horsemanship Quiz Challenge Practice Quiz between June 15 and July 15. The top three scores per trainer will be averaged to provide an overall score, and the highest scoring trainer per zone will win a unique trainer-inspired award package! Each year the USHJA accepts nominations for annual awards to recognize the significant accomplishment of members. The following awards are based on member nominations and have a nomination deadline of July 31:

EMO Insurance/USHJA 3'3" Jumping Seat Medal Finals
Riders qualify for the EMO Insurance/USHJA 3'3" Jumping Seat Medal Finals by accumulating 15 or more points in any EMO Insurance/USHJA 3'3" Jumping Seat Medal class between August 2 and August 1 of the current competition year. Riders may not cross-enter into the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search Finals and may only compete in one Finals event. There will be both East and West Coast Finals. NEW in 2020: USHJA 3'3" Hunter Seat Medal Finals
The inaugural USHJA 3'3" Hunter Seat Medal Finals will take place on both East and West Coasts in 2020. Riders must accumulate a minimum of 10 points in any USHJA 3’3” Hunter Seat Medal classes during the qualifying period to be eligible to compete in the USHJA 3’3” Hunter Seat Medal Finals. Once a rider has won the USHJA 3’3” Hunter Seat Medal Finals, she/he is not eligible to compete again. Learn more at ushja.org/hunterseatmedal.
USHJA JT Tallon Memorial Equitation Grant
Created in honor of the late J.T. Tallon, each year, the USHJA will grant $1,000 to one junior rider who has qualified for a national equitation championship at a fence height of 3' or higher.

The Sallie B. Sallie B. Wheeler/USEF/USHJA Hunter Breeding National Championships - West
The Sallie B. Wheeler/USEF/USHJA Hunter Breeding National Championships aim to increase awareness of the Hunter Breeding sport and provide an arena for handlers, owners, and breeders to showcase their talented young horses. The Championships are open to yearlings through and four-year-olds of any breed and include in-hand and performance classes. The West Coast Championship will be held August 26. AON/USHJA National Championships

The  AON /USHJA National Championships are set to return in 2020 at The Las Vegas National, CSI4*-W, in Las Vegas, Nev., Nov. 16-22, pending approval by US Equestrian. 

Members qualify largely based on Zone Horse of the Year points or Zone events. Points earned from competitions with a start date from Dec. 1, 2019, will count toward qualifying. Learn more at ushja.org/nationalchampionships.

USHJA Horsemanship Quiz Challenge

USHJA members ages 21 and under are encouraged to put their horsemanship to the test through September 1 for a chance to qualify for HQC Nationals, an in-person, educational horsemanship competition that offers $6,000 in educational grants and prizes.
