Important Debris Cleanup and Waste Collection Updates

In light of the recent Hurricane, the following updates provide essential information on waste and debris collection services for both unincorporated Lee County and City of Fort Myers residences within the District. Please review the details below to understand how regular garbage, storm debris, and other services will be managed in the coming days.


Unincorporated Lee County residences within the District

  • Waste Collection: Regular garbage collection resumes Monday, October 14, 2024. Your regular pickup day remains the same. Only household garbage and spoiled food will be collected.
  • Debris Collection: Storm debris collection starts October 14, 2024. Set debris at the curb, separate from household garbage. Do not bag storm debris. There will be multiple passes until all debris is collected. For more information: Click here
  • Yard Waste & Recycling Collections: Suspended until further notice due to high volumes of household garbage.

City of Fort Myers residences within the District

  • Waste Collection: Commercial and residential garbage collection resumes Monday, October 14, 2024. Your regular pickup day remains the same. Only household garbage and spoiled food will be collected.
  • Debris Collection: Starts October 14, 2024, with priority on the most impacted areas. Do not bag storm debris. For more information: Click here
  • Yard Waste & Recycling Collections: Horticulture, recycling, and bulk collection are suspended until further notice.
