Dr. Chelsea Chang, an internal medicine physician and associate professor at the UTRGV School of Medicine, and Surya Namboodiri, a fourth-year UTRGV medical student, were recently featured in the Why I Chose Cureus: Author Spotlight Series for their published literature review.
Their article, "Addressing Social Determinants of Health Training in Medical Education: A Literature Review Using Kirkpatrick's Model," examines how medical education programs can better prepare future clinicians to address social determinants of health.
The authors highlighted Cureus' streamlined peer-review process, support for early-career researchers, and rapid publication timelines that align with academic and residency milestones.
