New for Saturday, March 21, 2020
  • In today's (Saturday) news conference, Governor Cuomo said that his previously announced 90-day moratorium on lenders and landlords foreclosing or evicting individuals will be formalized in an Executive Order to be released later today. When that Executive Order is released we will post it on our Facebook Page.

  • Any psychologist or therapist willing to volunteer to help those trying to deal with the mental strain of this crisis are being asked to join the Mental Health Electronic Help Center by signing up HERE.

  • Governor Cuomo has announced no interest or penalty for non-remittance of sales tax. He has not said the duration of the waiver, nor has DTF issued this in writing.

  • Governor Cuomo also said NYS will follow the IRS deferment on filings (as a practical matter, they would have to, given our reliance on federal return info). Nothing formal has yet been posted on the NYS DTF website.

  • Reminder: All non-essential businesses are mandated to have 100% of their employees work from home beginning Sunday at 8PM. Guidance on who is considered exempt from the Executive Order can be found HERE. The list is also posted further down in this email. We have asked elected officials for consideration to create an unemployment program for small business owners.

  • If you are not on the list of exempt businesses, but believe you should be, you can request a waiver from Empire State Development HERE.

  • Reminder: Starting at 8PM today, all barbershops, hair salons, tattoo or piercing parlors, and related personal care services must close in accordance to Governor Cuomo's Executive Order 202.7.

  • Additionally, amid a shortage of personal protective equipment — or PPE — products in the state, including gloves, masks and gowns, the Governor is asking all PPE product providers to sell to the state any products that are not essential or not currently being used. Businesses interested in selling products to the state should contact Simonida Subotic at 646-522-8477 or covid19supplies@exec.ny.gov.

  • The Governor is also encouraging any company with the proper equipment or personnel to begin to manufacture PPE products if possible. The state is willing to provide funding to any company to obtain the proper equipment and personnel. Businesses interested in receiving state funding to manufacture PPE products should contact Eric Gertler at 212-803-3100 or COVID19supplies@esd.ny.gov.
