 5.  Business of the Month

Congratulations to Bill's Fix-It Shop   for being nominated business of the month for June.  Bill Gilmore is one of our dedicated directors. Bill does so many things to help the chamber. He has put a shelf into the back room for storage, put shelves in the "kitchen" area, put a shelf in the conference room, fixed a desk, and sits on several committees. Bill also is willing to donate his time to helping at our events.

Thank you Bill and Bill's Fix-it Shop for always doing so much!

 6.  Ambassador of the Month

Congratulations to Larry Leach! Larry is the Ambassador of the month for June. Larry and his wife Cindy own MainStreet Car Care & Quick Lube.

Larry was on the Board of Directors for many years. He is always willing to volunteer at the events. He graciously stores a lot of our items that we need for our events. He also put in the most volunteer hours for the month on June!

Congratulations Larry and than you for all you do to help the chamber be such a success!

NEW TEACHER GIFT BASKETS:
We will be taking donations for items to give to our new teachers.  Please watch for upcoming information.

It is time for the kids to start thinking about heading back to school and the parents to help them prepare.

1. Slow down when you are driving so that you can see the "little people" who forget to look and dart out into traffic.
2. Remember to send them in tennis shoes on P.E. day so that there are no accidents when running.
3. Set a dedicated place and time for homework that allows them to work uninterrupted and without distractions.
4. Keep open communication with the child's teachers so that you are aware of any issues that may arise to help make changes as soon as possible.
5. When doing fall sports during the school year, it is important to get plenty of sleep and to eat healthy as well as drink plenty of water.
6. Remember to limit time on the computer and electronics so that their brains and eyes have a chance to rest.
7. Have fun! Volunteer to read, go on a field trip, or have your child read aloud to you when doing their reading homework.

Have a safe and successful school year!
