GIG Policy on the Use of GFCO Product Information

The GFCO program has strict confidentiality policies regarding the information we obtain from our clients, including prohibitions on releasing any confidential information about companies, manufacturers, products, and ingredients. Our parent organization, the Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG), publishes educational and informational content for consumers, and as part of that they may collect and publish publicly available information about GFCO-certified products. In order to be transparent about how this information is used, GIG has issued the policy below, which also relates to its food service verification program, GFFS. GFCO-Certified Gluten-Free Products Drive Consumer Trust and Revenue Growth

Certified GFCO Gluten-Free products are outperforming non-certified options by a significant margin. Recent Q3 SPINS data reveals a 32.59% surge in sales for GFCO-certified products in the Medicine and Personal Health category, while non-certified “gluten-free” products have suffered a decline of 26.17%. Across all categories, GFCO-certified products grew by 10%, indicating a strong consumer preference for the trust and assurance that GFCO certification provides.

For brands, GFCO certification isn’t just a label; it’s a strategic advantage in today’s trust-driven market. Consumers looking for gluten-free options prioritize reliability, and brands that commit to GFCO standards experience measurable sales growth. By adopting GFCO certification, brands solidify credibility and secure a lead in a competitive landscape, attracting a loyal customer base while boosting revenue.

GIG CARES News

Once more, our community is beyond grateful for all of the extremely generous donations to those hit by hurricanes Helene and Milton. We have been able to serve a wide swath of regions, ensuring those who needed gluten-free foods had them as they began to rebuild their lives. Without amazing companies like you, none of this would have been possible. Together, we reached over 1500 families in just a few short weeks with nearly $150,000 in staple food items.
