Important Industry Update: NAHMA Version 8.0
Last July, OHFA issued an Industry Message in regards to upgrading to the National Affordable Housing Management Association’s (NAHMA’s) Version 8.0 in order to comply with HOTMA requirements. The upgrade, which was scheduled to occur effective January 1, 2025, will impact DevCo Online tenant events and .XML uploads. The full Industry Message may be found here.
However, due to delays by HUD NAHMA and necessary testing by OHFA’s IT Office, the upgrade will not be effective January 1, 2025.
How does this impact you?
OHFA will continue to maintain tenant event uploads in NAHMA 4.0 .XML files. Because this version is not HOTMA compliant, owners/management agents will be required to conduct additional manual entry on the Event Details page. Manual entry will be required for:
- Awards
- Assets
- Household members
- Income
Importantly, this additional manual data entry will only be required for new certifications and recertifications effective May 1, 2025 and going forward, and only if owners/management agents have not upgraded to NAHMA Version 8.0. The date of May 1, 2025, is OHFA’s mandatory implementation date for the HOTMA rule. Click here for further information.
OHFA anticipates it will have NAHMA Version 8.0 interface and .XML implemented in the coming weeks although this is subject to change. As OHFA establishes a firmer completion date additional communications will be issued.
