Even veteran 2-Day walkers should thoroughly read this email, as we have subtle, but important, changes in scheduling, locations, start times, etc. from year to year.

Parking for the 2-Day Walk Weekend
We partner with Lanier Parking to offer a discounted parking rate to 2-Day Walkers and Crew for their Courtland Street parking deck (located kitty-corner to the back of the Marriott Marquis, at the corner of Courtland and Harris/John Portman Boulevard).

Lanier has replaced their live attendants with an automated system. You will park at the Courtland Street deck and take a parking ticket. At 2-Day Walk check-in, please request a parking sticker. Attach that sticker to your parking ticket to receive the discounted rate.

When you leave the parking deck after Closing Ceremonies on Sunday, you will scan your sticker's barcode at the automated station to receive the 2-Day parking discount. We will have volunteers at the stations between 12:45-1:45 pm to help expedite the process and ensure a speedy and smooth departure. You must pay by credit card. No sticker, no discount!

Discounted rates for the Lanier Courtland Street Parking Deck during the 2-Day Walk Weekend are:

- $5 for Friday OR Saturday OR Sunday
- $10 for each overnight Friday/Saturday OR Saturday/Sunday
- Or $20 from Fri through Sunday
Check-In Instructions
Friday Arrivals: If you are checking into the hotel on Friday, check in with 2-Day Walk staff between 2:00-8:00 pm on the Atrium Level of the Marriott Marquis. Bring your photo ID to pick up your 2-Day Walk credentials. Then you may check into the hotel, enjoy yourself for the evening, and we'll see you at breakfast on Saturday morning at the Hard Rock Café between 6:00- 7:00 am! Opening Ceremonies begin at 7:00 am just outside of the Hard Rock on Peachtree Street.

Saturday Morning Arrivals: Drop off your luggage on the Atrium Level from 5:45-6:45 am. Check in to receive your 2-Day Walk credentials (must have photo ID) on the same level and then head over to the Hard Rock Café for a delicious breakfast between 6:00- 7:00 am. Opening Ceremonies begin at 7:00 am. If you need to leave the 2-Day Walk route early on Saturday, your hotel room may not be ready for you. All rooms should be ready by 4:00 pm. 

Saturday-only Walkers: At the end of the route on Saturday afternoon, you will enter the Marriott Marquis on the Courtland Street side on the International Level. There, you will check back in with Event Services, and may ask for your 2-Day Victory shirt.

Sunday-only Walkers: 2-Day Walk check-in and breakfast on Sunday Morning are from 6:30-7:30 am in the Atrium Ballroom at the Marriott Marquis. Opening Ceremonies begins in the ballroom promptly at 7:30 am.

Closing Ceremonies at Liberty Plaza begin at 12:15 pm, and buses will be waiting to shuttle you back to the hotel and parking deck after Closing Ceremonies ends at 12:45 pm.
Reminder: 50% Minimum of Your 2-Day Fundraising Required to Walk
Don't forget- in order to participate in the 2018 Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer, you are required to have at least 50% of your total 2-Day fundraising goal turned in when you check in at the walk. If you have not completed your fundraising, you will be required to sign a commitment form for the balance of your fundraising minimum and provide a credit card. You will have until October 31 to complete your fundraising. If at that time you still have not met your fundraising goal, your card will be charged for the remainder of your goal.

Route for the 2018 Georgia 2-Day Walk
for Breast Cancer!
Check out the 2-Day Blog to see the route for the 2018 Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer! The maps will show you a general overview of the neighborhoods we'll be going through this year. Remember- slight changes are still possible due to Atlanta construction, but the final route should not vary much from what you see on the maps. Enjoy!
Instructions for Friends & Family Coming to Closing Ceremonies
The location for Closing Ceremonies this year is Liberty Plaza across the street from the state Capitol building. For family and friends who would like to join you at Closing, paid parking (usually $10 on weekends) will be available at the surrounding parking decks (located to the right of Liberty Plaza, and just below the Plaza at the intersection of Memorial Dr. and Capitol Ave). There is also limited free street parking available in the area.

Transportation for 2-Day Walkers and Sunday Walkers back to the Marriott Marquis from Closing Ceremonies will be provided at no charge. Alternatively, friends or family coming to join you at Closing Ceremonies may pick up your luggage on the International Level at the Marriott Marquis (send them a photo of your luggage/ luggage tag!), meet you at Closing Ceremonies, and you can depart with them directly at 12:45 pm.
Invite Your Friends & Family to Cheer You On Throughout the 2-Day Weekend!
Cheering Stations for the 2018 Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer are here! Friends, family, and coworkers are invited to come out and encourage 2-Day Walkers at these designated areas. Bring signs, wear pink, and get ready to cheer!
Miscellaneous (But Important!)
Things to Know

  • You MUST wear your 2-Day credentials to all meals, including Saturday night dinner. Any paid guests will be given wristbands that they must wear to be admitted. No guests without credentials or wristbands will be permitted into any 2-Day meal site.

  • There will be a prize for the best Team Table Decoration. If your team has reserved a Team Table for Saturday Night Dinner, the time to decorate your table is from 4:30-5:30 pm only. You can use our theme (Superheroes) or come up with your own! If you need to leave the route early to get back in time to decorate the table, simply hop on a Sweep Van at your nearest B'Rest Stop, and the van will return you to the hotel. You are welcome to drop off your table decorations on Friday or Saturday morning at 2-Day Walk Check-In, and our Event Services Crew will place them in the ballroom for you on Saturday afternoon so that you can save time when you return from the route.

  • Before heading out on the route Sunday morning, please take your luggage down to the Atrium Foyer for storage. After Closing Ceremonies at Liberty Plaza, buses will be waiting to shuttle you back to the hotel. You can pick up your luggage on the International level.

  • Medical Services for the 2-Day Walk are located on the International Level of the Marriott Marquis this year. Medical Services close at 6:00 pm on Saturday, so if you need medical or podiatry attention after returning from the route, go immediately to check-in with the Medical Service concierge.  
New at the Walk this Year: Saturday Night Raffle!
This year, we're excited to add a raffle in addition to the silent auction at Saturday night dinner at the walk!

Raffle items include:
  • A YETI Tundra 35
  • A Coach purse
  • A "Basket of Spirits" (a selection of quality liquors)
  • A $250 Spafinder gift card (accepted at several spa locations throughout the country!)

All items will be on display throughout the weekend, and you will be able to select which item or items you would like to put your tickets toward. Raffle tickets are $5 for for 1 ticket, or 5 tickets for $20! Be sure to bring cash or credit cards down to Saturday night dinner if you would like to participate in the raffle, silent auction, or simply make a purchase at our cash bar! The drawing will take place at the end of Saturday night dinner.

Registration Closes THIS Friday 9/14/18
Online registration for the 2018 Georgia 2-Day Walk for Breast Cancer closes on Friday, September 14 at midnight. While we do continue to accept paper registrations all the way up until the walk itself (must be postmarked by no later Wednesday, September 19- hand deliver to office after that), we highly encourage anyone considering registering to do so immediately. Our hotel block is extremely full we will reach capacity soon!
Upcoming 2-Day Fundraisers
Hair cuts for a cause! Join  élon Salon  for their 12th Annual Cut-A-Thon on Sunday, October 14th from 12:00 pm- 5:00 pm!

Event specials include a haircut and/or colour express (with shampoo & style), $35 each or $70 for both! 100% of the proceeds go to support It's The Journey! In addition to hair cuts, there will be great food, live music, and more, so bring the whole family!
