McKenzie Families,

It was so great to hold our We are McKenzie Night again in-person. It was a huge success, and we were so happy to see everyone who joined us.

We also had a number of community partners who were on-site to offer valuable information to our parents. We want to give an extra special thank you to those who helped plan this great event!

We know it was a little busy, and we need your input. If you didn't get the opportunity to take our family survey, please take a few moments to tell us how we are doing and where you would like some improvements.

You will see some additional needs below, along with some great updates on upcoming events.

We are also hiring for several positions, and we could really use your help in spreading the word. You will see a link below to share, or you can share on our current posts located on our social media pages.

Go Eagles!
Lane Tompkins, Superintendent
Volunteers are needed in the classrooms for morning supervision before school, during recess & lunch hour, for field trips, in the office and after school.

Ask your classroom teacher for specific ways you might contribute to their classroom and/or bring your ideas to your teacher or the school, and we will see if we can make it happen!

There are many different opportunities for volunteers, but if you would like to volunteer in the classrooms or school, go on field trips, or work with students, you will need a processed volunteer background check.

Volunteer packets and forms are available in the Elementary and MS/HS offices. For more information, please contact the office at the school where you would like to help out!

The Tax Day has passed, but families that didn't file a tax return still can claim thousands of dollars from the expanded 2021 Child Tax Credit.

Nearly all families with children are entitled to claim the credit.

Outstanding Staff Member
Congratulations to Jodi Erdahl for being nominated as our Most Outstanding Staff Member.

One staff member said, "Jodi is always there for the students and staff. She is creative in her interventions and always makes you smile."

We’re proud to be one of 15 schools participating in Constructing a Brighter Future with Lane Education Service District.
Seth O’Hare recently spent time learning how to construct these shelters. As part of our CTE program, he will be leading our students as they look to build an emergency shelter together.
These shelters will eventually end up in Everyone Village and Square One Village.
Our students are lucky to get this hands-on experience while making a difference in the community.
