Dear Parents,

It is that time of year when sniffles, sneezes, runny noses and all the yucky sick bugs show up that we dread so much each year. Unfortunately, the CDC released information on January 16 indicating that this flu season is worse than was initially anticipated. Therefore, we are taking extra precautions to protect both your children and our staff. Please read through our Health and Sickness Policy below as it relates to your child's attendance at therapy. There are two very specific policies that I will highlight for you.
  1. If ANY member of your family has the flu, your child will not be able to attend therapy (even if your child is well). Due to the highly contagious nature of the flu we adhere strongly to this policy.
  2. If your child is absent from school for being sick or not feeling well, they should NOT attend therapy.
Keeping Everyone Healthy and Well at Kids Creek

We want you to be assured that Kid's Creek takes every effort to maintain a clean and germ-free environment for your children and for our staff.  We are diligent in our efforts on an hourly and daily basis to maintain a safe and healthy environment for all. All of our cleaning procedures are recommended by the American Medical Association.

All children wash their hands prior to the start of a session and will also have them use hand sanitizer during sessions after using equipment.

Please note that due to the quick spread of the FLU, it is our policy that if ANY member of your family is sick with the FLU, that your child may not attend therapy.

Please find below our Health and Sickness Policy for patients. Please realize that we will be very strict about following this policy for the benefit of all patients and our staff.

If you have any questions about the policy, please feel free to ask someone in management.

Thank you for your help in keeping Kid's Creek a healthy environment to learn, play, and work.

Kid's Creek Health and Sickness Policy

For the protection of your child, other children, and our staff, parents are requested not to bring a child who appears to be ill. Based on recommendation of the Committee on Control of Infectious Diseases of the American Academy of Pediatrics, a child should not be taken from home when any of the following exists:
  • Fever within last 24 hours
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Any symptom of a childhood disease such as scarlet fever, German measles, mumps, chicken pox, or hooping cough
  • Common cold-from onset through one week
  • Sore throat
  • Croup
  • Any unexplained rash
  • Any skin infection - boils, ringworm, impetigo
  • Pink eye or other eye infection (must be on antibiotics for minimum 24 hours before returning to therapy)
  • C.Diff (must have a note from doctor to return to therapy)
  • Hand, foot and mouth disease (must have a note from doctor to return to therapy)
  • Fifth Disease (must have a note from doctor to return to therapy)
Also please note:
  • Should a child's sibling or family member have a contagious disease such as Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease or Fifth's Disease, the child should not attend therapy until symptoms are clear in the home.
  • If a child develops a fever or other symptoms of illness while in therapy, he will be isolated and the parents contacted.
  • Therapists and staff are not able to administer medication.
  • Should your child develop an infectious disease following a session in the clinic, please contact the office immediately.
  • Please understand that it is at the discretion of a therapist and our staff to discontinue a session if we feel that your child is not well. If your child has a constant runny nose that will require our therapists to continually disinfect surfaces and equipment during a session, it is in your child's best interest and of others also that they not attend therapy.
  • If a child is not well enough to attend school, they should NOT come to therapy that day. We will be very happy to accommodate a reschedule if possible for later in the week if your child is well.
