IMPORTANT BASE CAMP INFORMATION

Good afternoon, Amana West Families:

Parking will be available at Camp Timber Ridge in the pool parking lot; once that is full, park at Girl Scout headquarters at 5601 North Allen Road.  If necessary, we will also utilize parking at the Ranger Lot, which is adjacent to Camp Timber Ridge.  Please read and adhere to our Good Neighbor Policy when driving on North Allen Road.

DRIVE THE PEBBLEBROOK LOOP

For  families who are interested, we will have an opportunity for you to practice driving the Pebblebrook Loop the evening of Wednesday, August 3rd from 5:00PM-6:30PM.  We feel it's important for families to familarize themselves with the route and the time it will take to travel it prior to the first day of school.  We will have staff and parent volunteers, along with our School Resource Officer, Mr. Johnson, on hand to guide you.

There will not be an opportunity on Wednesday for you to exit your vehicle and walk the drop-off and pick-up route with your student, but you will have a chance to do that at Base Camp the next day (there will also be time to drive the loop at Base Camp if you can't make it on Wednesday).

Below is a video that shows what drop off looks like and the route students will walk each morning and afternoon.

IMPORTANT BUS INFORMATION

Good afternoon,

We announced the consolidated bus stop locations last week to families who had previously expressed a need for bus transportation.  These locations were determined based on their proximity to the largest concentration of families who requested bus transportation, most of whom reside south of Amana West. After registering those families for bus service, there are still a number of seats available, so we are opening up bus service for any other families who might be interested. Please note that seats will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

Morning Route with Times:

STOP 1 - Union City Park & Ride (3370 Royal South Pkwy, Atlanta, GA) - 6:30AM

STOP 2 - Publix (5829 Campbellton Road, SW, Atlanta, GA) - 7:00AM

ARRIVAL - Amana Academy West Atlanta - 7:30AM

Afternoon Route with Times:

DEPARTURE - Amana Academy West Atlanta - 3:30PM (Fridays - 1:20 PM)

STOP 1 - Publix (5829 Campbellton Road, SW, Atlanta, GA) - 4:00PM (Fridays, 1:50PM)

STOP 2 - Union City Park & Ride (3370 Royal South Pkwy, Atlanta, GA) - 4:30PM (Fridays, 2:20 PM

This year, our budget cannot support adding a second bus.  In the future we hope to be able to offer a second bus that can provide service to families living in other parts of town.

Looking at the bus stops above, if you are interested in having your student ride the bus, please complete this form. Please note that students will be expected to follow the Bus Rider Guidelines, and failure to do so may result in students losing their bus riding privileges. Seats will be awarded on a first-come first-served basis.

Please let us know if you have any questions.
