SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY REVOLVING LOAN FUND ALLOCATED $5.38M GRANT TO MAKE DIRECT LOANS TO BUSINESSES AFFECTED BY COVID-19

August 19, 2020 -The San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors formally accepted $5,389,683 in non-competitive grant funds from the United States Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (US EDA) to capitalize a new Sudden & Severe Economic Dislocation Revolving Loan Fund (SSED RLF) specifically targeted to business affected in any way by the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Deadline Approaching in California for SBA Working Capital Loans Due to Adverse Weather Conditions SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Director Tanya N. Garfield of the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Disaster Field Operations Center-West today reminded small nonfarm businesses in California counties and neighboring counties in Arizona and Nevada of the deadline to apply for an SBA federal disaster loan for economic injury. These low-interest loans are to offset economic losses because of reduced revenues caused by adverse weather conditions in the following primary counties in California.

City of Stockton Building Department’s Permit Ready Plans for Accessory Dwelling Units – FREE OF CHARGE! There are three floor plan options and readied plans that can be picked up at the City of Stockton Permit Center located at 345 N. El Dorado Street. These plans are available for people within the City of Stockton city limits. In addition to the permit ready plans we offer, City of Stockton residents can draw up their own plans for review for an Accessory Dwelling Unit on their property.   ADUs are an excellent way to create additional living space for multi-generational housing or can bring in extra income by renting out the unit. California Community Reinvestment Grants Program The CalCRG program was included in The Adult Use of Marijuana Act (Proposition 64), which was approved by California voters on November 8, 2016. In accordance with the proposition, GO-Biz will award grants to local health departments and qualified community-based nonprofit organizations to support the following activities for communities disproportionately affected by past federal and state drug policies, also known as the War on Drugs (WoD).

Virtual Investigatory Hearing on Homeowners Insurance Availability and Affordability, October 19 Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara will convene a virtual investigatory hearing regarding contemplated changes to the California Code of Regulations to address the pervasive and increasing challenges that homeowners face when seeking and maintaining insurance in high wildfire risk regions of California.

Leadership Stockton Alumni Association Community Improvement Fund Grants Available The Leadership Stockton Alumni Association (LSAA) is pleased to invite eligible organizations to submit applications for grant funding from the LSAA Community Improvement Fund. Grants are available to fund projects and activities for nonprofit organizations based in San Joaquin County, providing direct services to people living in the City of Stockton, and directly align with this year’s area of focus: Education.
