Restaurant Revitalization Fund Application Deadline Monday, May 24, 2021

U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman announced that eligible eating establishments have until Monday, May 24, 5:00 p.m. PT, to submit applications to the Restaurant Revitalization Fund.

On Thursday, May 20, 2021 Governor Gavin Newsom announced the state’s new Employer Vaccination Toolkit, which will ease the process for employers to request a workplace clinic or local provider partner, making COVID-19 vaccines even more accessible for their employees.

Governor Newsom Signs Legislation to Fast-Track Key Housing, Economic Development Projects in California

Alongside state and local leaders in San Jose today, Governor Gavin Newsom signed legislation by Senate President pro Tempore Toni G. Atkins (D-San Diego) that extends expedited California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) review for key developments and expands the streamlining process to include small-scale housing projects – boosting the state’s economic recovery with the creation of more housing and good jobs.

Statement on Mask Guidance from California Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly

On June 15, California plans to implement the CDC’s guidelines around masking to allow fully vaccinated Californians to go without a mask in most indoor settings. First-Annual “PGA Caddies for HOPE(Helping Our Patriots Everywhere) Par 3 Contest” May 30 at Swenson

The Northern California PGA Foundation is calling all golfers to sign-up and participate in the first-annual “PGA Caddies for HOPE Par 3 Contest.” A fundraising initiative that supports PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere), the Foundation’s military pillar and the flagship military program of PGA REACH, the charitable foundation of the PGA of America, the event will take place on May 30, 2021 at Swenson Park Executive Golf Course in Stockton, Calif. Kaiser Permanente Northern California Addresses Systemic Racism by Providing Support to End Generational Cycles of Trauma

Kaiser Permanente Northern California is supporting efforts to end the generational cycles of trauma due to structural racism and injustice experienced by Black Americans and other communities of color. This trauma often manifests in situations and actions that hurt children by causing adverse childhood experiences, known as ACEs, which have negative lifelong consequences for health and well-being.

A $350,000 grant to the Sierra Health Foundation and The Center in the San Joaquin Valley will support the expansion of the Black Child Legacy Campaign’s Healing the Hood gun violence reduction program, which aims to change health and racial inequities by transforming systems and people to better serve vulnerable Black children, youth and families.

COVID Hospitalizations

(May 20, 2021) - Hospitals in San Joaquin County report having 31 COVID positive patients admitted for care. Adult intensive care units (ICU) are operating at 92% of licensed bed capacity. San Joaquin County hospitals report 0 patient deaths due to COVID in the past 24 hours.

Anyone working or living in San Joaquin County aged 12 or older

Those 12 - 17 are approved for the Pfizer vaccine at this time. A parent or legal guardian must provide consent for vaccination. Guidance on consent for minors is available from California Department of Public Health.

Vaccination of people younger than 12 will start as soon as the COVID-19 Vaccines are approved for them.
