Important Information Regarding App-Based Transportation/Delivery Services Accessing Bonita Bay

Dear Bonita Bay residents,

In an effort to maintain efficient gate access while also prioritizing the safety and security of our residents, the procedure for App-Based Transportation/Delivery Service (ABTS) providers entering Bonita Bay has been updated.

App-Based Transportation/Delivery Service Providers (ABTS)

ABTS refers to transportation or delivery services such as Uber, Lyft, Uber Eats, and Doordash, where you arrange your ride/delivery using a mobile phone application. (Amazon, Fed Ex, and UPS are not considered ABTS providers.)

How ABTS Vehicles are Being Processed at the Gate

When an ABTS vehicle approaches any of our community access points, our gate officers will conduct the following steps.

  • Request to see a valid driver's license.

  • Ask for the destination address within the community or your name (if the driver knows it).

Resident Responsibilities

Residents using ABTS resources are asked to:

  • Pre-authorize your transportation rides in the gate access system whenever possible. This will significantly speed up the entry process for your driver and help maintain gate efficiency.

  • If you live in a high-rise or multi-family unit and your driver is having trouble finding you, the gate officer may instruct the driver to contact you directly to get your unit number or other identifying details.

  • Inform your driver of your full name and unit number (if applicable). This helps our officers to quickly verify your ride, especially for high-rise or multi-family units where drivers may only have limited passenger information.

If you have any questions about ABTS, please submit them through the Contact BBCA form on the resident website homepage here or contact the Safety and Loss Prevention Department at 239-947-2476.
