From Elizabeth Hendrey, Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Jennifer Jarvis, Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management:
Welcome to Queens College for the Spring 2022 semester. We urge you to review the following protocols:

Before arriving on campus, you must enter your vaccination information in CUNYfirst which will register you in Cleared4. For instructions on this process, click here:

Please be aware that you MUST be in compliance with all CUNY protocols in order to maintain your campus access. This includes having your vaccination information uploaded to CUNYfirst and complying with the CUNY random COVID testing program.

Campus Access Instructions:

  • Campus access with a QCard (official QC ID card): Access with a QCard is available at the following locations:
  1. Main Gate on Kissena Boulevard (vehicle and pedestrian access)
  2. Gate 1 on Kissena Boulevard and Melbourne Avenue (vehicles entering the Student Union parking garage only and pedestrian access)
  3. Gate 2 on Melbourne Avenue (pedestrian access only)
  4. Gate 3 on Reeves Avenue (vehicle and pedestrian access)

Swipe your QCard on a card reader to enter. If your QCard is valid, you may move past the gate. If your QCard is not valid, you will be redirected to the Main Gate Public Safety office. Please keep in mind that Public Safety may not be able to give you the reason why access was denied, but we will do the best we can to assist you with campus access.

  • Campus access without a QCard: If you are in compliance with the vaccination mandates for students and faculty but do not yet have a valid QCard, you must enter campus at the Main Gate on Kissena Boulevard. You must have your Cleared4 Access Pass and a government ID. Please leave extra time as there might be long lines and extended wait times.

  • The hours of operation at each gate are:
  1. Main Gate: 24 hours a day. Note: The gate is closed from midnight to 5 am; access during these hours can be requested by calling 718-997-5911.
  2. Gate 1 on Kissena Blvd. and Melbourne Avenue: Monday-Thursday, 7:30 am-8 pm; Friday, 7:30 am-5 pm (closed Saturday and Sunday)
  3. Gate 2 on Melbourne Avenue: Monday-Friday, 7:30 am-11 pm (closed Saturday and Sunday)
  4. Gate 3 on Reeves Avenue: 24 hours a day. Note: The gate is closed from midnight to 5 am; access during these hours can be requested by calling 718-997-5911.

Public Safety is evaluating the campus access situation daily, and we will make adjustments as needed based on the conditions at the campus gates. Please keep in mind that Public Safety is here to assist the best we can. While we may not be able to resolve every situation, especially as we do not control Cleared4 access, we will do our best to provide assistance and help you access campus as quickly as possible.

Please be mindful to respect social distancing and wear a mask when interacting with Public Safety staff, even when outdoors. For safety reasons, Public Safety officers will not interact with someone who isn’t in compliance with distancing and masking. Please be patient when waiting for assistance. If you have an issue with a Public Safety officer, please ask to speak to the supervisor on duty or email the Director of Public Safety at anastasia.koutsidis@qc.cuny.edu

If you have a parking decal or pass, please be sure to park in your assigned parking area only. Violators will be ticketed, towed, or booted at the owner’s expense. For a list of parking regulations, go to www.qc.cuny.edu/about/security/Pages/ParkingAndTrafficRegulations.aspx.

Thank you for your cooperation. We urge you to consistently check your QC emails so you receive notification of any changes to campus access as soon as possible.
